Funso Akere, '15 (EXP-20) (Speaker)
Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Capital Limited

Funso Akere is Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC which is a member of Standard Bank Group. He is also an Executive of Standard Bank Group and a member of the Investment Banking Africa Regions Management Committee.

Funso joined Stanbic IBTC Corporate Finance in 2000 and executed over 50 complex and innovative M&A, privatisations and capital raisings over the next decade. He served as Head of Equity Capital Markets (2005-2008) and Head of Debt Capital Markets (2009-2010). He was seconded to Standard Bank South Africa in 2010 and worked as an Executive in the Africa Corporate Finance team advising clients in key African countries on cross-border M&A and capital raisings. Funso returned to Stanbic IBTC Capital in April 2015 as Head of Corporate Finance Nigeria, and was appointed acting Chief Executive and Head of Investment Banking Nigeria in June 2015 and Chief Executive in November 2015.

Funso serves on the Securities & Exchange Commission ("SEC") Technical Committee on attracting new listings. He served on committees tasked with reviving the bond market in the late 2000s and was Secretary of the Committee on Corporate Governance which wrote the first Code of Best Practices for Public Companies in Nigeria which was published by the SEC in 2003. Funso has a BSc Economics from University of Lagos and an MBA from Chicago Booth.

Ercin Eksin, '12 (Speaker)
Co-Founder, Lidya

Ercin Eksin is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Lidya (www.lidya.co), a fintech platform working to ease access to finance for SMEs across frontier and emerging markets. Through its digital platform, Lidya analyzes over 100 data points to build a customized credit score, assess a customer for a loan and disburse loans to qualified businesses in as little as 48 hours. Lidya currently operates in Nigeria where close to 200,000 businesses have signed up for its service and is backed by Omidyar Network, Accion, Newid Capital, Bamboo Capital and Alitheia Capital.

Prior to Lidya, Ercin co-founded ACE (Africa Courier Express), the leading last-mile eCommerce delivery company in Nigeria and is the former Co-CEO of Jumia Nigeria and Chief Operating Officer of Jumia Africa where he managed operations for Jumia across 6 African countries including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco and Ivory Coast. Ercin has prior experience at Rocket Internet where he served as a director of Global Operations working with over 20 companies across 20 countries to achieve operational excellence.
Prior to Rocket Internet, Ercin worked for Toyota specializing in advanced research in Electronics in Belgium.

Ercin holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with honors from METU and has an MBA from Chicago Booth.

Lanre Fabunmi is currently the Managing Director & CEO of AIICO Capital Limited – a leading secure investments management firm in Nigeria with over US$350million Assets under Management. He has over 17 years' experience in commercial banking, consulting, risk management, audit, investment banking, and investment management. Lanre founded Tricorn Capital – a boutique investment banking firm, where he led the firm in executing several landmark transactions of over US$400million. He worked in Investment Banking at ARM Investment Managers, advising on transactions valued at over US$500million. He worked with KPMG Professional Services, leading several large local and international audit/risk management engagements.
Lanre serves as Vice Chairman of the Regulation Consolidation Sub-Committee of Nigeria's Debt Capital Markets Development Initiative/Project.
Lanre is a Member of the Board of Directors of Food Concepts plc, where he serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board.
Lanre holds an MBA degree from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, BSc degree in Accounting from Ambrose Alli University, a Qualified Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria).
