For anyone who assumes that the math they learned in school will never be useful in the real world, Jeff Ma will prove them wrong. As part of the MIT blackjack team, Jeff and his friends used math and statistics to beat casinos legally, for millions of dollars. Not only did his story inspire Ben Mezrich’s bestselling book Bringing Down the House and the blockbuster movie 21, but Jeff also went on to start three different companies and a successful corporate speaking career. An expert at riding out both winning and losing streaks in casinos, Jeff reveals how the correct mathematical knowledge and outlook can help businesspeople manage the unpredictability that comes with any venture. Like gambling, business is a game that can lift people to great heights or deliver crushing losses, but THE HOUSE ADVANTAGE proves that every businessperson can take proactive measures to counter the uncertainties of their industries.
