For this jubilee edition a top panel has been put together, consisting of Luc Bertrand, CEO of Ackermans & van Haaren, Jan Loeys, Managing Director and Head of Global Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments at JPMorgan in London and Howard Gutman, the new US Ambassador in Brussels. Luc Bertrand (Speaker)
CEO, Ackermans & van Haaren

Luc Bertrand is the Chairman and CEO of Ackermans & van Haaren, a company focusing on Dredging, Real estate, Financial services, Private Equity and Energy. He is also a director at several other companies and institutions. Before joining Ackermans & van Haaren in 1985, Luc Bertrand worked for Corporate Finance Bankers Trust Co in New York, London & Amsterdam. Luc Bertrand is a graduate of the KU Leuven and holds a Commercial Engineer degree.

Jan Loeys (Speaker)
Managing Director and Head of Global Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments, JPMorgan in London

Jan Loeys is Managing Director and Head of Global Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments and Chief Market Strategist for JPMorgan. He works from London and writes and edits JPMorgan’s Global Markets Outlook and Strategy, The JPMorgan View, Investment Strategies, and Global Issues. Mr. Loeys joined JPMorgan in New York in 1986: he worked initially in International Economics and in Markets Research where he wrote on international investments. In 1992, he moved to London. Prior to his arrival at JPMorgan, Mr. Loeys was Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He has taught finance and economics at UCLA, the Wharton School, NYU, and Fordham University.

Howard Gutman (Speaker)
US Ambassador in Brussels

Howard Gutman is the new U.S. Ambassador in Belgium. Before being named Ambassador, Mr. Gutman was a partner with the Washington D.C. law firm of Williams & Connolly LLP. In his over twenty-six years with the firm, Mr. Gutman handled the full gamut of litigation, investigation, and counseling matters. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gutman served as a Special Assistant to F.B.I Director William H. Webster, focusing on counterterrorism and counter-intelligence. He is a 1980 graduate of Harvard Law School and a 1977 graduate of Columbia University.
