The Chicago Booth San Francisco Alumni Club would like to invite you to attend the 2015 Reunion Dinner for Classes of 1980 – 2000. The program theme will be ObamaCare and the disruption of the health insurance industry.

We reserved 50 seats and assigned tables for reunion dinner attendees in the main meeting room. A class reunion reception will be held in the main meeting room from 6 - 7 PM.

We invite other Chicago Booth and UChicago alumni to join us for the fireside chat and a general reception in the lobby from 6 - 7 PM.

Fireside chat will start @7 PM in the main meeting room. Dinner will be served.

Red and white wines from California will be served along with dinner. Come to connect with old friends and make some new ones! Venue will be the Law Offices of Fenwick & West in Mountain View. Spouses and significant others welcome.

Marguerite Callaway, CEO of Callaway Institute, will start the fireside chat with a comprehensive framework about ObamaCare and how the different requirements of the Affordable Care Act set off a disruptive innovation in all aspects of the healthcare industry and health insurance in particular.

Court Houseworth, Managing Director at Cain Brothers, will provide a market overview with special focus on California insurance market: what are the market drivers, who are the major players, what's on the horizon, what are untapped opportunities.

John Vu, SVP of Strategic Planning and Community Benefit, Kaiser Permanente, will talk about population health and how it works.

Janet Widmann, former EVP of Blue Shields California, will present a different perspective about how other insurers are responding to industry disruption as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

Marguerite Moore Callaway (Speaker) '84
CEO, Callaway Leadership Institute

Marguerite has spent her professional career working in and consulting to the healthcare provider industry. Prior to founding her own consulting firm in 1996, Ms. Callaway was a Principal in KPMG's National Healthcare Strategy Practice, at a time when hospital providers were consolidating into vertically integrated healthcare systems. Her clients include, among others, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Harvard's University's Brigham and Women's Children Hospital, Franciscan Health System, University of Pennsylvania Hospital System, Deaconess Health System, Mayo Clinic, Sansome Clinic and Billings Clinic (multi-specialty group practices). She has served on several healthcare boards.

Ms. Callaway served as Senior Vice President of Strategy Planning and International Relations at Sharp Healthcare, San Diego, one of the earliest integrated delivery systems, known throughout the industry for its innovation. From 1997-2002, Ms. Callaway was Vice President, Consulting Services at Kaiser Permanente Corporate Offices, where she was a member of its senior executive team.

From 2005 to the present, Ms. Callaway remains a Lecturer at Yale School of Public Health, focused primarily on developing and delivering international leadership and management training programs in the US, UK, Ethiopia and 11 other African countries. Since 2008, she has coordinated numerous hospital management programs for Chinese hospital leaders on the Yale University campus and in Beijing. Her current leadership responsibilities include the role of Dean of Specialized Programs—Healthcare at the University of Phoenix, School of Business.

Ms. Callaway earned her BA from Northwestern University, and her MS from Cornell University, and a MBA from Chicago Booth.

Court H. Houseworth (Speaker)
Managing Director and Co-Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Cain Brothers

Court Houseworth co-leads Cain Brothers' Managed Care and Behavioral Health advisory practices. He has over 25 years of experience advising both public and private companies in a variety of merger and acquisition, capital raising and strategic advisory transactions as well as valuations and nonprofit conversions.

Mr. Houseworth's notable transactions include the acquisition by Blue Shield of California of Care1st Health Plans, Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania's merger with Highmark, the sale of Premier Access Insurance Company to The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, the sale of Foundations Recovery Network to N Pritzker Capital Management and the sale of Centerre Healthcare to Kindred Healthcare. He is a member of the firm's President's Advisory Council.

Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Mr. Houseworth was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers responsible for firm's Managed Care practice and was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns where he was responsible for the Los Angeles Corporate Finance Group and the firm's West Coast healthcare investment banking practice.

Mr. Houseworth earned a BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.

John Vu (Speaker)
Vice President of Strategy, Community Benefit, Research and Health Policy, Kaiser Permanente

John Vu is responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of key strategies to help deliver on Kaiser Permanente's commitment to improving the health of communities, especially in addressing broader determinants of health. His focus is to ensure alignment and integration of major priorities and business plans across several functional areas, including care and coverage programs for low income people, partnerships with safety net providers, community health initiatives, environmental stewardship, research, health policy, diversity and international programs.

He was previously a director in Kaiser Permanente's national Strategic Planning department and a management consultant focused on key business operational issues. He serves on the Advisory Council for the Association for Community Health Improvement, was a Fellow in America's Health Insurance Plan's Executive Leadership Program and was named a Diversity MBA Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader in 2013.

John is a graduate of executive leadership programs at Harvard Business School and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Janet Widmann (Speaker)
former EVP of Markets, Blue Shield of California

Janet Widmann is former executive vice president of Markets at Blue Shield of California, a 3.5 million member not-for-profit health plan that serves the state's commercial, individual and government markets. She is responsible for the management and performance of the company's members and its more than $13 billion in annual revenue.

Prior to her current role, Widmann served as a senior vice president responsible for large employer groups, public agencies and labor and trust groups − a 1.3 million member business unit serving complex market segments with more than $5 billion in annual revenue.

Prior to joining Blue Shield, Widmann held positions at several venture-backed, for-profit and not-for-profit companies, including at Health Net in the areas of marketing, operations and sales, and as the chief operations officer of the company's dental and vision subsidiaries.

Widmann earned her master's degree in health administration at the University of Southern California, and a bachelor's degree in health administration at California State University, Northridge.
