Event Details
Achilles A. Stamatiadis completed the B.A. in International Relations with a Minor in History, Political Science and Classics at Northeastern University, Boston. He then pursued a postgraduate program in Comparative Studies at Harvard GSAS and received an MA from the University of Chicago after completing his dissertation on "Heavenly and Terrestrial Manifestations of an Ancient Goddess: From Empedocles' 'Aphrodite' to Tennyson's 'Lucretius.'"
His master's thesis examines, inter alia, how a model of thought that appears from the time of Plato is utilized in the curriculum of teaching Leaders, in the time of the Renaissance. The relationship between Classical Models of Thought and Leadership is at the heart of Mr. Stamatiadis' interests and this ultimately encouraged him to attend a program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on the concept of Leadership in the 21st century. He has taught at the Athens Center, the Adult Program of the College of Athens and the Center Culturel Hellénique in Paris. He lives and works in Athens and is currently preparing a publication related to the timeless adoption of philosophical models of thought.
