Join the Smart Museum of Art's Curator of Global Contemporary Art, Orianna Cacchione, to explore the University of Chicago's newest contemporary art collection, exhibited in the newly opened Yuen Campus in Hong Kong.
Established in partnership with the Smart Museum of Art and Canice Prendergast, the W. Allen Wallis Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at Chicago Booth, the collection comprises artists drawn from Chicago and throughout Asia including Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, India, and elsewhere. Their practices have a global reach, addressing globalization, the economy, and historical memory as a complement to the academic programs held on campus. In this virtual tour, learn more about each work and go behind the scenes of building a university art collection.
