Neal Simon is a business executive and community leader from Potomac, Maryland. Born in New York City, he is the son and grandson of immigrants. Neal's mother, Sylvia, was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Neal's father, Donald, is the son of immigrants from Belarus. His father worked in equipment leasing and his mother worked as a school teacher and then a travel agent.
In 1986, Neal graduated from George W. Hewlett High School and went on to study at Brown University. While at Brown, Neal attended Tel Aviv University for the spring semester of his junior year and a summer semester at the Sorbonne (Universite de Paris). In 1990, he graduated from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics. Neal then attended University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business in 1995 and spent one trimester attending Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile and a summer working at The World Bank. He graduated with a Master of Business Administration.
Over the course of his career, Neal has led five professional services companies, including Highline Wealth Management, which he sold in 2015, and Bronfman Rothschild where he is currently serving as CEO.
Public service has always been a part of Neal's professional and personal life, and he's passionate about serving others in an authentic and meaningful way. From starting a public service fellowship while in business school at the University of Chicago, to creating Bronfman Rothschild's Employee Giving Fund, which has provided financial support to more than 20 different charitable organizations over 10 years. Neal has held a lifelong belief in helping people who are less fortunate.
Outside of his work life, Neal is the current chair of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, which gives away more than $70 million each year, making it the largest funder of local non-profit groups in the Washington, D.C. region. He also served for six years on the board of directors for Interfaith Works, which helps vulnerable neighborhoods in Maryland's
Montgomery County fight poverty and homelessness. In 2016, Neal and his family were honored as Interfaith Works' "Humanitarians of the Year."
Neal is married to Jennifer Brown Simon. They live in Potomac, Maryland and have three children. The Simons love sports, the outdoors and traveling. Neal has dedicated much of his life to helping his kids achieve their personal goals in sports and life.
