Trust in financial markets fluctuates based on current events, government policies, and government interventions. The Financial Trust Index measures the level of trust Americans have in banks, the stock market, mutual funds, and large corporations, and examines how that trust changes over time.

The Financial Trust Index, developed by Paola Sapienza of the Kellogg School of Management and Luigi Zingales of Chicago Booth, is calculated annually based on a survey of American adults. Report archives, working papers, and research related to financial trust are also available.
