After 20 years as a consultant, manager, and executive, Kent Lineback changed careers. For the past 10 years, he’s worked as a writer and career transitions coach. He has collaborated with executives who wish to write about their experience in business. Lineback is the coauthor of two books published by Harvard Business School Press that focus on what it takes to build a successful business. He wrote the BusinessWeek best seller, The Monk and the Riddle, with Silicon Valley sage Randy Komisar, about how deals are made and businesses get started. In L.L. Bean: The Making of an American Icon, Lineback worked with Leon Gorman, grandson of the iconic store's founder, to tell the story of Gorman’s efforts to preserve the identity that built Bean as he made much-needed changes.

Lineback has produced numerous films and videos for Harvard Business School. Working with his wife, Lineback has written The Legacy Guide, a book about recording the story of your life that will be published by Tarcher/Penguin.
