Q. Where is Gleacher Center?

Q. How far away are Midway and O'Hare Airports?

A. Midway Airport is approximately 12 miles (~20km) from Gleacher Center. O'Hare Airport is approximately 18 miles (~29km) from Gleacher Center. The links below provide more information on both airports, maps, and options for transportation to your hotel or Gleacher Center.

Allow at least 1-1 ½ hours to get to either O'Hare or Midway airport by taxi during rush hour.

 

Q. Where is the best place to stay?

A. We have a room block through the Intercontinental Hotel for each program with discounted nightly rates. Once you have registered for the program, the program coordinator will contact you via email with information on hotel accommodations and room rates. For other recommendations please contact us at 312.464.8732.

 

Q. I am taking the Metra/CTA to get downtown. How far away is the train station?

A. The closest CTA Red line subway station is located at Grand and State. The station located at Lake and State is also within walking distance. The closest CTA Green, Pink, and Brown line stations are also at Lake and State.

The CTA Blue line goes to O'Hare Airport; the closest station is Clark and Lake. The CTA Orange line goes to Midway Airport. The closest station is at State and Lake.

The closest Metra stations are Union Station or Ogilvie. From the Metra stations, you can take a taxi to Gleacher Center. If you choose to walk from Union Station, it's about a 25-30 minute walk.

Q. I'm from the Chicago area. Where is Gleacher Center and how do I get there?

A. Gleacher Center is located off of Michigan Avenue near the Tribune and NBC towers.

Q. Should I rent a car?

A. The hotels we recommend are within walking distance. It is not necessary to rent a car.

 

Q. Which hotel do you recommend? How do I contact them?

A. We have a room block through the Intercontinental Hotel for each program with discounted nightly rates. Once you have registered for a program, please log into the member portal and view the accommodations tab for more information. For other recommendations please contact us at 312.464.8732.

 

Q. Do I have to use the hotel you recommend?

A. It's not necessary to book a room at the hotel we recommend. If you prefer to use a different hotel, feel free to do so.

 

Q. I'm from the Chicago area, should I still stay in a hotel?

A. It is not necessary to stay at a hotel. Staying in a nearby hotel is an added convenience.

 

Q. Something came up and I am needed in the office. I would like to postpone my attendance. What are my options?

A. Chicago Booth Executive Education Payment Policy

All notification of cancellations, transfers, deferrals and substitutions must be sent in writing to Chicago Booth Executive Education. Full refunds can be obtained up to 30 days before the program start date. Any cancellations or requests for transfers or deferrals received 30 days or less from the program start are subject to the fees as described below.

More than 30 days’ notice: 0% Cancellation – 0% Transfer Fee

14 to 30 days’ notice: 30% Cancellation – 15% Transfer Fee

Less than 14 days’ notice: 50% Cancellation – 25% Transfer Fee

Chicago Booth Executive Education, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to limit enrollments or cancel a program regardless of acceptance status. In the unlikely event of a course cancellation, paid program fees will be refunded. Chicago Booth is not responsible for any travel, hotel or other related expenses accrued by the program registrant.

Substitutions:

All participant substitutions are subject to the sole discretion of Chicago Booth Executive Education. Requests must be submitted in advance and will be reviewed on an individual basis, based on participant qualifications and lead time needed for any program pre-work.

Transfers:

Transfer requests must indicate the new dates and/or new program the participant wishes to attend. Transfers are valid only within one year of the original program start date.

Refunds:

Any remaining balance of a cancelled program's payment can be applied to another Chicago Booth Executive Education program within one year of the program date. After one year, the balance is non-refundable.

Full tuition is nonrefundable under these conditions:

  1. The registrant or substitute does not enroll in another program within one year of the original start date, and/or
  1. The registrant or substitute defers or transfers more than two times.

The Advanced Management Program requires a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit upon program acceptance. For participants of the Advanced Management Program, all electives must be completed within one year of program start date.

Exclusions:

Participants of the Certified Investment Management Analyst Certification (CIMA) program are excluded from the cancellation and transfer fees.

I'm from London, should I still stay at a hotel?

It is not necessary to stay at a hotel. Staying in a nearby hotel is an added convenience.

 

Which hotel do you recommend? How do I contact them?

We have negotiated rates at nearby hotels for all our programs. Your registration confirmation email will have information on reserving a hotel room. 

 

How far away are the hotels?

A. Most of the hotels we recommend are within walking distance from the London Campus, where the program is held. You will be supplied with a list of options upon your registration some of which we have negotiated rates with. 

 

Q. Which airports are in London?

Q. How far away is the underground (also known as the ‘tube’) from the London campus?

A. St. Paul's is a 5-minute walk from campus and has the central line.

Bank tube station is a 10-minute walk from campus (refer to our campus information page) and has the following lines: central, northern, circle, district, Waterloo & city and DLR.

Q. Where is the Hong Kong Campus?

A. The Hong Kong Jockey Club University of Chicago Academic Complex | The University of Chicago Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong is at 168 Victoria Road, Mount Davis. This page has maps, directions.

 

Q. Which hotel do you recommend? How do I contact them?

A. Depending on traffic, Central Hong Kong is around 15-25 minutes in a taxi.

 

Q. Is there parking on campus?

A. There are no parking spaces on site.
