COVID-19 has given us plenty of reasons to feel anxious—about our health, about our jobs, and about the future. Chicago Booth’s Ayelet Fishbach says that policy makers should combat those anxieties by reinforcing the idea that many of the disruptions we're experiencing are temporary. Reminding people that isolation will not last forever—and, if possible, giving them some expectation for how long it will last—can help them wait out the crisis more patiently.
