Ultimate Robert Parker Wine Event in Asia. Three days of International World Class Wine Experiences at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore – Grand Ballroom Saturday, 1st /Sunday 2nd of May Grand Tasting Singapore; Taste over 300 wines over 2 days, all selected for their unique style and distinctive characters from the Top 100 wineries of the most renown producing region. Monday, 3rd of May Les Fruits de la Vigne Adopted Charity Gala Dinner Les Fruits de la Vigne Charity Gala Dinner will feature seven “100 points” Robert Parker wines paired with 7 course meal designed by three selected chefs, known as Singapore best chefs in their own style. Robert Parker Jr. will explain and discuss each of the seven “100 Robert Parker Points” served for the occasion and produced by renowned winemakers from around the world.

The Grand Tasting; 2 days direct interaction with some of the worlds best wine producers. Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd of May 2010 *Walk about tasting during the 1st week-end of May, held in the ballroom of the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore, making it an ideal venue for entertaining some corporate guests or as individuals.. *Expected attendees 1500-2000 wine consumers. *Taste over 300 wines over 2 days, all selected for their unique style and distinctive characters from the Top 100 wineries of the most renown producing region. *A program of vibrant Master Classes will be organized during the two day event, involving international speakers from the World of wine (guest sommeliers, writers, MW, …) *All tickets will be promoted and sold exclusively through SPH network and organizing partners. *Robert Parker Jr. will be attending the Grand tasting and will hold a book signing session. Les Fruits de la Vigne Adopted Charity Gala Dinner Monday 3rd of May 2010 executives, investors, as well as business leaders, government dignitaries, wine and art patrons will attend this unique dinner experience. Les Fruits de la Vigne Charity Gala Dinner will feature seven “100 points” Robert Parker wines paired with 7 course meal designed by three selected chefs, known as Singapore best chefs in their own style. Robert Parker Jr. will explain and discuss each of the seven “100 Robert Parker Points” served for the occasion and produced by renowned winemakers from around the world. The most attended part of the event will be the silent and live auction in profit to the NUH Patient Care Charity Fund (PCF). This organization provides financial assistance to financially disadvantaged patients and their families in Singapore.

Robert M. Parker, Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 23, 1947. An honors graduate of the University of Maryland, with a major in History, and a minor in Art History, he attended the University of Maryland Law School, graduating in 1973. For ten and one half years he was an Attorney, a Senior Attorney, and later an Assistant General Counsel for the Farm Credit Banks of Baltimore. On March 9, 1984 he resigned his position as Assistant General Counsel to devote full attention to wine writing. His interest in wine began in 1967, when he spent a month abroad during his Christmas vacation, visiting a girlfriend (who is now his wife of 37 years) at the University of Strasbourg in Alsace, France. By 1975, he began to think about writing about wine and commencing his own “independent, consumer’s guide,” largely because of the paucity of reliable information on wine quality. Friends and family advised that his career in law should be given top priority, and that wine writing was a romantic, unprofitable profession. Nevertheless, by 1978, the concept of a wine publication was formulated. The first issue of The Wine Advocate, a complimentary issue, was sent out to mailing lists purchased from several major wine retailers. The initial number of charter subscribers in August, 1978, was less than 600. Twenty-eight years later, The Wine Advocate has over 50,000 subscribers, in every state in the United States, and in over 37 foreign countries. Today, virtually every knowledgeable observer agrees that The Wine Advocate exerts the most significant influence on the serious wine consumer’s buying habits and trends not only in America, but in France, England, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, and China.
