Event Details

For many Americans, Uganda and East Africa are unknown geographies. To the extent that these areas are known, it's often in the context of trouble spots, such as Somalia, the Sudan conflict, and even Kenya. Unreported in the American media is the fact that trade between the USA and Uganda/East Africa is growing due to economic prosperity. Professor Byamugisha will assess the outlook for East Africa and its implications for commerce, and address the misconceptions and perceptions that he has encountered since his arrival in Chicago in August.
