Al Jazeera America, Comcast Xfinity, and the CIE are excited to present a talented panel that will examine how new technologies affect politics and media coverage.
Driving Directions:
The CIE is located at 1452 E. 53rd, 2nd Floor, Chicago, IL. There is street parking or a surface lot near us. The surface lot is just north of the corner of Harper and 53rd at 5208 S. Harper Ave., Chicago. The CIE entrance is just west of Five Guys on 53rd St.
You can also take the Metra Electric train (~15 minutes from Millennium Park) or the 6 or 28 buses. They will drop off very close to our building.
Event Details
The panel will include experts in media, innovation, and politics. They will strive to answer questions such as:
- How is news redefined in an age of social media, crowd sourcing and big data?
- How does this affect politicians, political races, and how journalists cover events?
- In the digital age, who will be more powerful: the citizen or the state?
- What is the role of innovators and entrepreneurs in providing platforms that will be used in the political space?
