Event Details

Imagine if you had been among the group of investors that helped back Henry Ford when he started Ford Motor Company, or maybe you were one of the few that funded Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore when they started Intel, or provided a loan to Ralph Lifshitz to help him start Ralph Lauren. Tomorrow's economic success stories are being written today in places like Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Places where a rapidly growing middle-class needs everything from basic services to consumer products, and where technology allows businesses to leapfrog certain elements of the development process. So how can you invest in these markets?

In one evening, you will:

1. Learn more about efforts underway to increase investment opportunities in emerging markets.
2. Review information about a prospective investment opportunity in Kenya and discuss the factors that would influence whether or not you would invest in this company, and more generally, emerging markets.
3. Discuss how the JOBS Act can revolutionize access to capital for emerging market companies.

The result:

You will gain a much better understanding of the economic environment in emerging markets, learn more about efforts being taken to mitigate real and perceived risks, and get a sneak peek at a promising company started by alums from Booth and UChicago Law looking to address this $2.5T investment market.

Note: The person who provides the best feedback will receive a prize.
