Asian Financial Forum - Asia: Driving Change, Innovation and Connectivity

The AFF, co-organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is Asia's premier platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, intelligence and partnership opportunities with the most recent edition attracting more than 2,800 global leaders in government, finance and business from 38 countries and regions.

Celebrating its 10th edition, the AFF 2017 will continue to examine global growth, finance and investment. Dedicated sessions on financial innovation (focusing on payment technologies and cyber security) together with topical issues such as protection gap and health insurance, insurance and actuarial regulatory developments, infrastructure financing as well as private investment and wealth management will also be arranged.

Keynote Speaker - 17 January 2017 - Raghuram Rajan, Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth.

Raghuram Rajan was the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India between September 2013 and September 2016. Between 2003 and 2006, Raghu Rajan was the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. 

Rajan's research interests are in banking, corporate finance, and economic development, especially the role finance plays in it. He co-authored Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists with Luigi Zingales in 2003. He then wrote Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy, for which he was awarded the Financial Times-Goldman Sachs prize for best business book in 2010.
