Last month, the US Department of Justice filed a second landmark antitrust lawsuit against Google, this one “for monopolizing multiple digital advertising technology products.” To simplify the apparent complexity of the case—and to understand why and how it matters to consumers, the advertising market, the tech industry, and the economy—Capitalisn’t podcast cohost Luigi Zingales conducted a special bonus interview with Dina Srinivasan, a lawyer in the field of competition policy and fellow with the Thurman Arnold Project at Yale.

Following the interview, the show’s other cohost, Bethany McLean, joins Zingales to discuss the implications of this case for consumer harm, the business model of journalism, democracy, and beyond.
