Kenneth Viellieu

Mr. Viellieu is a Managing Director and Head of Midwest Investment Banking at Moelis & Company, a publicly-traded independent global investment banking firm. He founded the Chicago office of Moelis & Company in 2008 and significantly expanded the firm’s presence in the Midwest. Moelis & Company has been one of the fastest growing independent investment banking firms during the last decade since its founding in July, 2007 with record revenues of approximately $880 million in 2018 and an extensive global network with 850 employees across  19 geographic locations in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.  Mr. Viellieu has over 35 year of investment banking experience and specializes in mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and capital markets across a number of industries representing both publicly and privately held companies along with private equity firms.  Mr. Viellieu’s prior investment banking experience  includes serving as Senior Managing Director and Head of Midwest Investment Banking at  both Bear Stearns and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette during the previous 20 years before joining Moelis.  Mr. Viellieu serves as a board member on the Lurie Children’s Memorial Foundation Board and the Big Shoulders Fund and is a past Trustee  and former Treasurer at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, IL.. Mr. Viellieu is a member of the Executives Club of Chicago and the Economic Club of Chicago and serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Mr. Viellieu received his B.S. from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and his MBA from the University of  Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Viellieu has been a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Booth since 2007.
