David L. Resnick, MBA ’85, JD ’85

David L. Resnick, MBA ’85, JD ’85, has spent over 30 years in the asset management and investment banking industries, in addition to devoting his time and expertise to several prominent nonprofit educational, cultural, and religious organizations. He is currently board president of the Jewish Museum in New York City and chair of the investment committee at Wesleyan University, on whose board he’s served for the past six years.
Most recently, Resnick served as president of Third Avenue Management, a boutique asset management firm where he led and grew the private investment business. Prior to that, he spent time as chairman of global finance advisory at Rothschild & Co., managing director and head of restructuring at Peter J. Solomon Company, and in vice president roles at Lazard Freres & Co. and Merrill Lynch & Co.
In addition to serving on a number of private and public company boards of directors, Resnick is involved with the Charles H. Revson Foundation, a leading philanthropic organization focused on urban affairs, Jewish life, education, and biomedical research. He also volunteers as an advisor at New Visions for Public Schools, an organization that provides innovative approaches, tools, and training to improve achievement gains in public education, along with operating its own network of charter schools.
Resnick earned his JD from the University of Chicago Law School, his MBA from the university’s Booth School of Business, and a BA from Wesleyan University.
