The Kilts Center assists student groups and departments across Booth source speakers as well as facilitate and promote events. These events include presentations, interactive workshops, and intimate fireside chats and panels where audiences can learn more about their intended job function and role across industries. Previous companies represented at these events include Netflix, Google, Wayfair, and PepsiCo.

Open House with Booth research centers

In partnership with the Center for Decision Research, the Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership, Mindworks, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, and the Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State. 

This is an opportunity for Evening/Weekend students to meet staff and learn about the Chicago Booth research centers. Evening and Weekend students are invited to kick off the academic year by learning more about several Booth research centers and how their activities and programs enhance the student experience. 

At the Open House, you'll have the chance to learn more about each center and meet staff from:

Pathway to Marketing & Product Management Careers

In partnership with the Chicago Booth Scholars Program

The Kilts Center for Marketing invited incoming students in the Chicago Booth Scholars Program to explore career options and learn about the brand management roles in CPG and retail as well as product management and product marketing management roles in the tech industry. A panel of first-year and second-year students including Tess Belton, ‘21, Product Marketing Manager, Facebook; Prachi Kulkarni, ‘22, Product Manager Intern, SoFi; Mandy Schiff, ‘21, Senior Associate Brand Manager, Kraft Heinz; and Sean Wareham, ‘22, Product Manager Intern, Google shared their experiences and propensity for each role.

What I Wish I'd Known: Tech

The Kilts Center for Marketing and Career Services invite you to attend What I Wish I'd Known: Tech. Panelists Carolyn Chen, '20, Product Marketing Manager, Facebook; Ankit Jaini, '20, Product Manager, Twilio; and Miranda Zhao, '20, Product Manager, Google reflected on their careers post-MBA and shared their experiences from their full-time tech roles and the key lessons they've learned along the way. The panel covered the knowledge they've gained, how their expectations changed along the way, and what their current roles entail.

Eunice Kim, VP of Product Innovation at Netflix, discussed her career path and professional growth as well as a day in the life and innovation at Netflix. 

Deconstructing the Big Game

In partnership with the Marketing Group

Booth marketing professor Christopher Krohn, '97 created a framework to evaluate some of the year's commercials, helping students gain an expert perspective on the impact and influence of this year’s ads. Julie Rubin, '15, Senior Marketing Manager on the North American Media Team at PepsiCo, shared why marketers choose to advertise during the Super Bowl and how they create iconic spots.

An Overview of Marketing Analytics: Career Insights and Current Trends

Panelists Apurv Anand, '05, Director of Marketing Insights & Analytics at Palo Alto Networks; Eli Strick, '10, Director, Customer Insights & Analytics, United Airlines; and Konstantin Wachs, '20, Senior Manager of Analytics at Tovala covered the nuances of marketing analytics and how companies across industries are advancing customer insights.

User Centered Digital Marketing with Banks Baker, '05

In partnership with the Marketing Club

Banks Baker, Head of Global Product Partnerships for Search Content at Google, discussed where digital currently sits in the marketing landscape and what is driving its importance, the criticality in defining the user journey in an overall marketing and business strategy, as well as his own career journey and what it takes to be a marketer today.

Marketing during an economic downturn

In partnership with the Marketing Club

Donald G. Fitzgerald, '95, President at Dom's Kitchen & Market; Susan Reynolds, '93, Global VP, Partner Ecosystem at IBM; and Gregory Guidotti, General Manager at Ferrara Candy Company discussed the differences between B2B and B2C marketing, emerging consumer behavior trends, and how they maintain close relationships with consumers through uncertainty.

Big Data and the Big Game

Booth faculty and representatives from Nielsen, Frito-Lay, and Interpublic Group covered the data-driven aspects of Super Bowl campaign-planning and success measurement tools. They walked through multi-million dollar campaigns from creative inception, to media planning, all the way through success measurement.
