Beth -> EveryoneThank you for joining us today! I'm Beth Daily, Associate Director and I'm available to answer all of your application related questions.
Kara -> EveryoneGreetings from Chicago Booth! I am Kara Northcutt, Associate Director of Admissions. Thank you for joining today's chat. I look forward to answering your questions about Booth's Evening MBA, Weekend MBA and the application process.
Sharm -> BethComing with 10 or more years of experience in a specific industry , are we required to take GMAT in this case?
Beth -> SharmSharm, thank you for joining us today. All applicants are required to submit either a GMAT or GRE score in order to be considered. We do not offer any GMAT/GRE waivers.
Holly -> EveryoneWelcome to the chat! I am Holly Shearer, Senior Associate Director for Student Services here at Chicago Booth. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the curriculum or life as a student.
Krista -> EveryoneThanks for joining today's chat! I'm Krista McNamara, Admissions Manager at Booth. I'm looking forward to answering all your questions, especially those regarding the application process.
Srini -> KristaCan you please explain more about the analytic management concentration. Is it focussed on market research?
Krista -> SriniHi Srini, Thanks for your question! For information on this concentration please visit:
Srini -> KristaFor Non US Citizens/Non US permanent residents, does the school offer any help in securing loans needed in the event of admission?
Krista -> SriniSrini: We have a financial aid office who can assist with applying for federal loans. We do not offer scholarships for the part time program. http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/evening/admissions/tuition-financial-aid
DianePesquera -> KaraGood afternoon! I'm Dianella from Argentina. I'm about to finish my Bachelor degree in International Business. I would like to be considered to enter the MBA program in 2014. I have 4 year work experience, however it may not be compared to those entering the MBA program. How can I improve my application beside presenting tests scores?
Kara -> DianePesqueraDianella, thank you for joining today's chat. Since you are in Argentina, will you need a student visa to study in the US? If so, you will need to apply to Booth's Full Time MBA program. If you would like to pursue Booth's Evening MBA or Weekend MBA, you will need to be living and working in the US.
Jimmi -> Bethwhat is average GMAT score for evening MBA?
Beth -> JimmiJimmi, the average GMAT score for the Evening MBA is around 680 but our admitted students have scores between 620-750.
MNair -> KristaHi Booth Admissions Team, Thank you hosting this session... I had a couple of questions... 1. How much flexibility do I have to switch from the weekend program to the evening program during the course of the program?
Krista -> MNairMNair: Thanks for joining today. In order to switch from the Weekend to the Evening program you have to have completed two quarters at Booth. Students are allowed to switch once during their time at Booth.
Eric -> HollyMy employer may not cover the full costs of tuition at Booth due to the price. Are there any scholorships for the evening program?
Holly -> EricHi Eric - Booth does not offer scholarships for our part time programs. We do offer financial aid in the form of student loans to assist with covering the cost to attend.
nadeem -> KristaCan some one switch mid program from the weekend / evening program to the full time prorgram? I may consider doing that for the last semester or two
Krista -> nadeemNadeem: In order to switch from the Weekend to the Evening program you have to have completed two quarters at Booth. Students are allowed to switch once during their time at Booth. If you would like to switch to the full-time program you will have to reapply as a full-time student since their application differs from ours.
nadeem -> Bethwhat is the typical GRE / equivalent GMAT score range for your students
Beth -> nadeemNadeem, our students generally have GRE scores which covert to a GMAT range of 620-750
Ryan -> HollyI vaguely remember an optional PowerPoint slide as part of the application process a while back. Is that still considered for the optional essay, or do you know require a written essay?
Holly -> RyanHi Ryan - The Full-Time MBA utilizes the PowerPoint slide as part of their application, but the Evening MBA and Weekend MBA application does not. We require three essays, and there is an optional fourth.
Srini -> KristaCan you also let me know the average GRE score ball park (old format. I took mine in July 2011) that the program considers. This would allow me to assess myself
Krista -> SriniSrini: Our students have and average GMAT score of 680; however, most students we admit have a range between 620-750.
Jeff -> KristaHello, I have already submitted my application and have my interview this upcoming weekend. I was wondering if you could give me an idea of what I should expect and if there is anything I should to prepare for the interview? Thank you
Krista -> JeffJeff: The interview will be with a member of our admissions committee. It is a one-on-one interview and will be a 45 minute conversation about why you would like to attend Booth. Be prepared to discuss your resume, past experiences and what your goals are for getting and MBA.
Mani -> BethHi, How critical is volunteer experience for the admissions ?
Beth -> ManiMani, good question. While every part of the application is reviewed, the volunteer experience (or lack thereof if the case may be) will not negatively impact your review. In the application we want to understand why you want an MBA, what your goals are, and how Chicago Booth will help you in that endeavor. If you have volunteer experience, please be sure to include it but don't stress if life and work have kept you busy.
John -> KaraMy interview for the fall quarter is coming up this week. What kind of questions should I expect to be asked in the interview? Is it true that the person interviewing will not have reviewed my application beforehand? What is the rationale behind that?
Kara -> JohnJohn, the interview is typically "blind" meaning your interviewer has not read your application. We do this to, as much as we can, control any biases in the process. If your interviewer has read your application, they would already have an opinion formed about you. You can expect questions similar to what you answered in the application, why MBA at this point in your career, why Booth, short term/long term goals, etc. You will also likely be asked to give examples from your past experience, both personal and professional.
MNair -> KristaThanks Krista, next question I have is: my work will require me to travel internationally in 2014-15 for approx 6-8 months, can I take semester breaks back-to-back for 2/3 semester if required?
Krista -> MNairMNair: The program will definitely allow for you to take time for travel. You are able to take 2 quarters off (each quarter is 11 weeks) without taking a leave of absence. If you take a leave of absence that's fine as long as you finish the degree in five years.
Srini -> Hollyis the applicant expected to show specific specialization /short term goals at the time of application/interview.
Holly -> SriniHi Srini - While we will expect to hear your reasons for pursuing an MBA, we know that short term and long term goals change for many students once they join the program.
John -> BethOn the Tuition and Financial Aid page of the website, there is a link to the Loan Policy that does not seem to be working. Could you send an updated link?
Beth -> JohnJohn, I'm sorry the document hasn't been updated. If you can please email me at Beth.Daily@chicagobooth.edu, I will work to find an updated copy of the document to send to you.
Jimmi -> KaraMy GMAT score will expire in Sep 2013, and I want to apply for Spring 2014. Do I need to take the GMAT again? I have over 5 years of experience with Masters degree.
Kara -> JimmiJimmi, you will need to submit your application before your scores expire. The Spring 2014 application is available online, so you can submit anytime between now and when your scores expire. If you do not submit before they expire, you will need to retake the exam.
nadeem -> BethAny preferred order for completing the application process? Or just meet the requirements by the deadline?
Beth -> nadeemnadeem, good question. I would recommend taking the GMAT first to get the score you are happy with and then work on the application. Feel free to send out your requests to recommenders and send in your transcripts (although we only require unofficial copies at the time of submission). Once you submit your application, you will then be prompted to schedule your admissions interview.
Srini -> KristaDoes the program specifically arrange for class study groups by placing people from different backgrounds together so that we can learn from each others experiences. Mine being IT, I would surely like to learn from other professionals/experience.
Krista -> SriniSrini: The program allows for you to meet classmates from a variety of industries. It is up to the professors to decide if they will have group projects with intentional group member design. However, we find that most students create their own study groups based upon their schedule.
Srini -> Hollyhow does the program target to improve the leadership skills of the applicant during the course of the program. Does the program identify areas each applicant is weak in and assist in improving in those areas.
Holly -> SriniHi Srini - All Evening MBA and Weekend MBA students participate in LAUNCH - an intensive three-day orientation program that includes programming from the Effective Leadership team. As part of LAUNCH, students complete a number of assessments to help identify areas of opportunity. Following LAUNCH, there are electives offered to help further strengthen your leadership skills.
DianePesquera -> KaraHi Kara! Yes, as far as I know the people at the embassy told me that I will have to request a Student Visa, that would allow me also to work up to 20 hours a week. But yes, I believe the full time MBA. Is a better option for me.
Kara -> DianePesqueraThank you for clarifying. Feel free to review Booth's Full Time MBA website for more details about the program and their application process http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/full-time.
Sharm -> BethMy technical experience in IT is more than 10 years and I'm also a Music video producer from the country that I come from .Do you think would be best if i were to apply for the Evening or the Full time program itself?
Beth -> SharmSharm, it really depends what you are looking to get out of the program. If you are looking for an internship/career change, I would recommend looking into the Full-Time program. If you are looking to continue working while in the program/enhance your career, the Evening MBA might be a better fit. I would highly recommend visiting a class in both the Evening MBA and Full-Time MBA program. The Evening MBA offers class visits over the summer and our options are available online at http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/evening/admissions/class-visit?source=modules_engage_eve. To visit a Full-Time class, they will start up again in October.
Eric -> BethI scored extremely high on the verbal section of the GMAT, but mediocre on the math section. Does this hurt my chances of acceptance?
Beth -> EricEric, while this will not hurt your chances, we will review all of your scores. If you are concerned about your scores, I would recommend either retaking the exam and/or utilizing the optional essay question to explain.
Jessalyn -> Karawhat is the acceptance rate for part time applicants and how do admissions officers view gaps of unemployment?
Kara -> JessalynWe do not provide our acceptance rates. If you have gaps in your employment, be sure to explain this in your application. You can explain in the optional essay section if this information does not fit into another essay. We have certainly seen other applicants apply and be admitted who have gaps in their employment.
AJ -> KristaCan I defer admissions from the spring class to the fall class?
Krista -> AJAJ: It depends on which program you are applying to. You are able to defer to the next application deadline so for the Weekend class you can defer from Spring to Autumn. For the Evening program you could defer from Spring to Summer and so on.
Srini -> BethAt the time of application, the online system requests for specifying 5 areas of concentration (at max). Are these considered as potential interests especially in the event of considering new career choices
Beth -> SriniSrini, you can select up to three concentrations in the application but are not held to any if you are admitted to the program. These are considered more of potential interests.
nadeem -> BethFor how long does a semi-completed / comopleted application / admission decision stay active? I may be get assigned to an international project in fall 2013 and or
Beth -> nadeemnadeem, applications remain active up until the application deadline. Afterwards, you will not be able to edit your application. If you apply and are admitted, you may defer your entry by one quarter for the evening program or two quarters for the weekend program. If you learn about a work project, please feel free to work with our directors to discuss the best options.
Srini -> HollyI appreciate that the program is extremely flexible. Have their been any changes made to the program off late or in plan to make the program more flexible/or adding course content
Holly -> SriniHi Srini - I'm glad you value Booth's flexibility. We recently added a second opportunity for students to join the Weekend MBA program. They are now able to also join the program in Spring quarter instead of only in the autumn. There are no immediate plans to change the curriculum, but new classes are offered annually. For example, Dean Alderucci is offering a new course this summer on Innovation Strategy.
kranthi -> KristaHello. If i`m unable to finish the program and have to relocated to a different city for job related reasons. What are my options, will i be able to transfer my credits to a different instutution?
Krista -> kranthiKranthi, it depends on the different institution's policy with transfer credits. At Booth, we do not accept transfer credits.
solo -> HollyHow and when can we request a visit of the campus?
Holly -> soloHi Solo - We encourage interested students to attend an Information Session. Our next Information Session is scheduled for this Friday (July 12). The event starts at 6:30 at the Gleacher Center. We offer these sessions monthly. If you'd prefer a one on one meeting, please email our office at EveningWeekend-Admissions@chicagobooth.edu to schedule an appointment.
kbuffo -> BethI am currently working full time at a boutique asset management firm but want to pivot to consulting. My goal would be to get a summer internship half way through the program which would hopefully lead to a full time position after completing the MBA. Does entering as a E/W student vs Full Time make it more difficult to get an intern/full time position when making a career change?
Beth -> kbuffoYes there are certainly students who do this but there is no formal process available for obtaining an internship for part-time students. It is typically through their network and some assistance from career services that most of our student secure an internship.
Moderator -> EveryoneWe are half way through the chat and have had great questions so far. Please continue to submit your questions! We will try to answer all of them today.
AJ -> KaraI have about 16 years of experience as an engineer, will I be a better fit for Exec MBA or can I apply for the weekend MBA?
Kara -> AJAJ, this really depends on what type of program best fits your needs. Your work experience will be more similar to Executive MBA program (XP) students. The XP program is a lock step, cohorted program, which means most of your classes are predetermined for you and you take courses with the same group of people throughout the duration of the program. It is a 21 month program, and classes take places every other Fri. and Sat. The Evening MBA and Weekend MBA is more flexible, in that you can pick & choose whatever classes you want. Think about these differences and continue reviewing the website, as this should help you decide which program is the best fit.
KP -> KristaHello, I am currently in another state but am planning to move to Chicago and hoping to start my MBA program in Fall of 2014. For the Evening program, can I apply while I am still in another state if I plan to be in Chicago prior to the start of the program or do I have to have a physical address in Chicago to apply? Thanks.
Krista -> KPKP: You do not have to live in Chicago when applying to the program. In your application, add a note either in your optional essay or elsewhere that you are planning a move to Chicago.
Jessalyn -> KristaIf you come from a liberal arts background, would it help to take some quantitative courses even though they won't transfer?
Krista -> JessalynJessalyn: We have many students with non-business backgrounds. If you're interested in taking a few classes before applying for your MBA, the Graham School of Continuing Studies is a great option. You can take Booth classes as a non-Booth student and when you apply, up to three of those classes can count towards your MBA. https://grahamschool.uchicago.edu/
KIN_P. -> BethI received a Master of Accountancy from another institution. Would some of the credits from that program transfer over?
Beth -> KIN_P.Chicago Booth does not accept any transfer credits. That being said, you could certainly take a higher level course so as not to repeat courses you may have taken in your accountancy program. All students are required to complete 20 courses + effective leadership to complete the MBA.
Jimmi -> HollyI am working in Pricing industry and would like to gain more knowledge and leadership experience out of Booth evening MBA. Do you have any specific courses which will benefit me?
Holly -> JimmiHi Jimmi - We have a number of courses that address pricing. I'd recommend that you review the course search found online here: http://boothportal.chicagobooth.edu/portal/server.pt/community/course_search/205.
Tom_S -> KristaOne of the major benefits of any MBA program is the students' ability to interact with other passionate, successful people and get to know them on a more personal level. Can you describe how students in the Evening and Weekend MBA programs can connect with other students and alumni outside of the classroom?
Krista -> Tom_STom_S: Students have a variety of opportunities to interact outside of the classroom. We have 34 student led groups that you have the opportunity to join. We also have social events throughout the quarter that are held after class for students to network with one another. Additionally, an event called Executive in Residence, features alumni in differing industries speaking about their experiences. You can choose to be as involved in these as you wish!
AJ -> HollyHow many hours are students expected to spend for assignments/study?
Holly -> AJHi AJ - Each class is different when it comes to the time needed outside of the classroom. It can even vary between faculty teaching the same course. Once you join the program you'll have access to course evaluations which provide some insight into how much time students spent on the course outside of class.
Jeff -> BethHello, My undergraduate degree was in Business, would this be looked at positively, negatively or not at all?
Beth -> JeffJeff, we have several business majors apply to Chicago Booth, so this will not negatively impact your application in any way. That being said, having non-business majors will also not negatively impact your application. We look to see how you performed in college much more so than your major.
Srini -> KristaDoes the program offer curriculum or course electives that can assist in gearing towards a career of further research in teh field of specialization.
Krista -> SriniSrini: We offer a variety of elective classes that allow students to further specialize in a particular area. If you're interested in the research that faculty are involved in please visit this website: http://www.chicagobooth.edu/faculty/
Tom_S -> KaraI will be entering a training program for work at the end of July, which will conclude around Christmas time 2013. I am not sure of what city I will be working in post completion of the program, but would like to begin the Weekend or Evening program in 2014. Would you recommend waiting to submit my application until I know which city I will be working in (i.e. if I lived in Chicago I'd likely apply for the Evening Program, otherwise I'd opt for the Weekend Program)?
Kara -> Tom_STom, if it is most likely you will be outside of IL, you should apply to the Weekend MBA. You can start either application, then we can change it if needed. For example, you can start the Weekend MBA app, then if you land a job in Chicago, we can change it to an Evening MBA application. Save my email address, kara.northcutt@chicagobooth.edu. We can stay in touch as you move through the process.
Ryan -> KaraIf I attended multiple Universities for undergraduate studies, would the final transcript showing all previous classes and grades from those prior Colleges suffice, or do you need unofficial transcripts from the other Colleges, too?
Kara -> RyanRyan, this varies from school to school. If your degree granting school's transcripts do not list all courses and grades that you transferred, you will need to submit transcripts from all schools you attended. If you are unsure, it is safer to submit transcripts from all schools.
Srini -> HollyDoes the program have regular talks from the industry in different fields like marketing/brand management/market research from ex alumni or industry executives. In addition, I understand that the class room encourages debate and open thinking. Is there are more case study based approach. In addition, what is the mode of evaluation followed as part of every course. Thank you!
Holly -> SriniHi Srini - Our 34 student groups play an active role in providing programming on the topics you mentioned. Career Services also provides programming in these areas. Regarding the classroom, yes debate is encouraged as this adds to the richness of the classroom experience. Some faculty use cases to teach topics, while some do not. At the conclusion of each quarter, students are asked to submit course evaluations. Those evaluations are then compiled and made available to students online.
Jessalyn -> KaraIs it possible to find out the acceptance rate for part time applicants? Also how do admissions officers view previous periods of unemployment?
Kara -> JessalynJessalyn, as I mentioned before, we do not provide our acceptance rate. See the answer I previously posted regarding gaps in your employment.
Srini -> BethDo we need to send the official transcript via normal mail to the admissions office or is it sufficient to upload just a scanned copy of the official transcript. Thank you
Beth -> SriniSrini, when applying we only need your unofficial transcripts (which can be uploaded directly into the application). If you are admitted, we will need official copies (sent either electronically or mail) at least one month prior to LAUNCH.
Jimmi -> KaraWhat is the median work experience of the students who are admitted to the program?
Kara -> JimmiJimmi, it is typically around 5-6 years on average. However, there is a very wide range of experience.
kranthi -> KristaHello. I`m from an engineering background, with 10 years experience. I don`t have an MBA background and have not take basic MBA courses before. How will an MBA at Booth help me shape a focus area? Also does Booth have campus placements after the MBA program?
Krista -> kranthiKranthi: The Booth MBA has 14 concentrations to choose from, most students receive 2-3 concentrations. With the help from our Academic Advisors you can plan your course load based upon interest and fulfilling certain concentrations. As for your question regarding placement, through our Career Services office you have the opportunity to participate in On Campus Recruiting. http://www.chicagobooth.edu/corp/hire-students/off-campus-recruiting
KP -> KaraHow are you using the Integrated Reasoning portion of the GMAT to evaluate applicants for the 2014 cycle? Does my score on that portion weigh equally with my score on the Quant and Verbal sections?
Kara -> KPKP, your total GMAT score is most important. The IR score is evaluated, but it is not the most important aspect of the exam.
Sharm -> HollyIn the Evening and Weekend MBA programs is there any flexibility or importance given to working Mum's or even single mum's .
Holly -> SharmHi Sharm - We do offer a group focused on supporting moms - Mothers at Booth. http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/full-time/student-experience/beyond-classroom/groups/mothers-at-booth
We're also flexibile in terms of taking time away from the program (for any reason) - as you have five years to complete the MBA. I do know several single parents currently working on the degree.
MNair -> KaraI am also interested to know if you have students who fly in from my city for the weekend program i.e. Houston, TX? If yes, can I contact them to get their prespective on travel schedules, challenges of flying in weekly, work-weekend balance, etc... Do you also have alumni in Houston I can reachout to?
Kara -> MNairYes, we have many students who fly in from Houston. Eighty percent of our Weekend MBA students live outside of Chicago. Send me an email, kara.northcutt@chicagobooth.edu, and am happy to connect you with a student or alumni in Houston.
Srini -> KristaDoes the program break after every quarter for a 2 -3 week period. In the event that we miss a class on a particular saturday due to family commitments or so, what are the ways to make up. Are the professors available in person on Saturdays alone to discuss offline topics.
Krista -> SriniSrini: Each quarter has a one week break between with the exception of Summer- Autumn when there is a three week break. You are expected to attend every class; however, in the event of an emergency, the professor may allow you to make up the class in a different manner. It is up to the professor's though so it will be different for each class.
Edward -> BethHi, I'm interested in the Chicago Business Fellows program. On the Application Deadline page of CBF, I see only one deadline (and it has passed.) Does it mean CBF takes one admission round per year?
Beth -> EdwardEdward, yes, the CBF program currently only brings in one class, starting in the Autumn quarter. We do have an early decision in January but the CBF program only starts in the Autumn.
Jessalyn -> BethI took some finance oriented courses at UCLA through their extension program. Most students already have their BA and I would use this to show my quantitative abilities. Will that be viewed favorably in the application, even though the credits won't transfer?
Beth -> JessalynProvided you did well in the courses, then yes this would favorably. That being said, graduate courses are not required to apply to Chicago Booth.
Moderator -> EveryoneOur chat will be ending in approximately 10 minutes. Please submit your final questions so we can answer all of them.
kbuffo -> KristaWhat is the average/max amount of courses evening students take per semester?
Krista -> kbuffoKbuffo and MNair: Most students take 2 classes per quarter. You are able to take more but we suggest meeting with Academic Advisor when doing so.
Jessalyn -> BethHow long does it take to receive an admissions decision?
Beth -> JessalynOnce you submit a completed application, you will have a decision from our office within 4-6 weeks.
AJ -> KaraThanks Kara!! I wanted to apply to the weekend program rather than the Exec one since I wouldn't be able to take days off from work. Will my age or having such experience (16 years) hurt my chances in any way for the weekend program.
Kara -> AJAJ, not at all! we have a wide range of ages and experience in the Evening MBA and Weekend MBA.
kranthi -> KaraWill a student be able to move between the evening MBA & Weekend MBA program if necessary?
Kara -> kranthiYes, we allow a one-time transfer from the Evening to Weekend program and vice versa. It is a very simple process.
Edward -> BethThank you for your answer, Beth. One more quick question: is it possible to connect to CBF students/alumni that shares similar background with me? Thanks!
Beth -> EdwardEdward, we would be happy to connect you with CBF students/alums. Please send me an email at Beth.Daily@chicagobooth.edu and I will be happy to connect you.
KIN_P. -> KristaWill all the classes available to the full-time students be available to the part-time/weekend students as well?
Krista -> KIN_P.KIM_P: Good question. The classes in the full-time and part-time programs are the same and taught by the exact same faculty. You are able to take classes outside of your home program; however, you have to wait until a later phase during registration to do so. If you have the flexibility to take class during the day then it's a great option!
Ryan -> HollyIs the Career Services office the same that is available to the full-time candidates, or does the E/W program have its own Career Services? Additionally, do you happen to have any information regarding graduates from the E/W and how many change jobs, find new jobs, etc.?
Holly -> RyanHi Ryan - We have a separate Career Services team that is focused on Evening MBA, Weekend MBA, and Executive MBA students along with the entire alumni population. This team is housed at Gleacher Center and is available before class daily and on Saturdays. From recent survey data, we know that 54% of graduates change employers, 62% received a promotion, and 8% start a company or become self employed.
Jimmi -> KaraWhat is average salary of the students after receiving the evening MBA?
Kara -> JimmiJimmi, I do not have that info at my fingertips. Shoot me an email, kara.northcutt@chicagobooth.edu, and I can get back to you.
kranthi -> BethHello, Is prior Project Management or Business experience a prerequisite in the admissions process? Will having a pure Engineering background be less favorable or reduce my chances of acceptance?
Beth -> kranthikranthi, prior experience is not required for admissions. As long as your reasoning for why you want an MBA, why now, why Chicago Booth along with your academic background and test scores are competitive, having a pure engineering background will not be detrimental to your application. If you are concerned, I would recommend utilizing the optional essay question to further explain yourself.
Srini -> HollyThank you all for patiently answering all my queries and for hosting such a session. I appreciate all the information that the program provides to the applicants. I will contact the admissions office in case of any further queries. Thank you and Hope all goes well for me towards the program admission. Best Regards, Srini
Holly -> SriniSrini - You're very welcome! Best of luck with the application process.
KP -> KaraThanks again for your answer. What type of on-campus interviewing is available for evening students? Do you also have any employment statistics on evening students for those seeking new employment during or shortly after finishing the program?
Kara -> KPKP, Evening MBA students are allowed to participate in on campus recruiting (OCR) for full time jobs, which is the same OCR that full time students take part in. From our recent graduating student survey data, 54% Changed employers, 8% Started a company or became self-employed, 62% Received a promotion while at Booth.
AJ -> HollyAre classes recorded for later?
Holly -> AJHi AJ - Courses are rarely recorded as faculty want to protect their intellectual property. Students are encouraged to attend each session and actively participant in the conversation.
Jessalyn -> KaraI live in Los Angeles, so I can't do that. However, UCLA Extension offers courses that are intended for students who already hold a BA. Would that be ok?
Kara -> JessalynThese courses would not transfer into the MBA, but they would look good in your application (assuming you do well). It would also be a good way to prepare yourself for our quantitative courses.
Beth -> EveryoneThank you for joining us today. I hope you found this chat helpful. We look forward to seeing you at our next Information Session this Friday, July 12. There is still time to register: https://apply.chicagobooth.edu/register/?id=0037bdf9-f595-4abe-917f-4fb7c4e720dc
Krista -> EveryoneThanks for joining today. If you're interested in visiting a class, please see the following website: http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/evening/admissions/class-visit?source=modules_engage_eve. We look forward to hosting you!
Holly -> EveryoneThank you for joining today's chat. I enjoyed answering your questions. Best of luck with the application process.
Jessalyn -> KaraAre admissions interviews held outside of Chicago?
Kara -> JessalynYes, interviews take place at the Gleacher Center, downtown Chicago. Your interview takes place after you submit your application.
Jimmi -> KaraIs the application decision made on rolling basis or there is specific date, when all the applicants receive the results?
Kara -> JimmiYes, we make decisions on a rolling basis, which means you will have our decision 4-6 weeks from the date you submit your application.
Kara -> EveryoneThanks for joining today's chat! We look forward to working with you as you continue your research and move through the application process.
Moderator -> EveryoneOur session has now ended. The chat transcript will be posted on Thursday, July 11, on the following links: Evening MBA program http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/evening/admissions/events/online-chats Weekend MBA program http://www.chicagobooth.edu/programs/weekend/admissions/events/online-chats
