Participants in the Summer Business Scholars Program can expect an in-depth classroom experience, a focus on real-world skills, and the chance to establish valuable relationships with alumni and Chicago-area companies.
Building Skills for Life
Summer Business Scholars learn from the same world-class faculty members who teach Chicago Booth’s top-ranked MBA programs. The SBSP curriculum includes dedicated classroom time, and past courses have covered topics such as accounting, finance, marketing and innovation, and negotiation and problem solving.
Through both coursework and activities outside the classroom, Summer Business Scholars gain critical skills they can take into their future careers or further academic pursuits.
Participants walk away with real-world skills—from negotiating, to reading a balance sheet, to evaluating investment opportunities, and more—that will allow them to make an impact in a variety of business environments.
Summer Business Scholars also meet with high-level Booth alumni and visit Chicago-area companies, giving them an invaluable, up-close look at a range of career fields from investment banking to social impact work.
“SBSP is a terrific way for students to be immersed in Booth. Participating gives students a sense of the quality of the faculty and whether ultimately pursuing an MBA is an attractive option for them. Just as importantly, they will form relationships with a group of highly motivated students from around the world.” — Patrick Doyle, ’88, CEO, Domino's Pizza
