Joanna Zisis , Senior Associate Director, Admissions
Joanna joined the Full Time MBA Admissions office in August 2007 and has worked with various groups across the team. Currently as Communications Specialist, she works on developing and executing integrated marketing and communication strategies. Prior to Booth Joanna served as an account executive for marketing and advertising agencies New York and Chicago. Joanna's experience in higher education includes managing admissions for the Chicago Campus of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, as well as acting as student advisor, instructor, and program coordinator for Lorenzo de’ Medici – The Italian International Institute, an international university in Florence, Italy. Joanna received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Sara Raffa , Class of 2016
Sara Raffa Sara is a second year student who founded a start-up while at Booth. Eislee is a fashion brand that creates chic, high-quality apparel and accessories made from alpaca yarn with a focus on mindful sourcing and production. Sara has been involved with the many entrepreneurship resources at Booth, including participating in the Social New Venture Challenge in the spring and the Polsky Accelerator Program this past summer. She is also an Editor of The Booth Experience and a TA for the class Building the New Venture. Prior to Booth, Sara worked in accounting and consulting for PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a CPA and graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University in 2010.

Sana Suh , Class of 2016
Sana Suh Sana graduated from the University of Chicago with an English Literature degree. She then went on to work for Morningstar, Inc. in investment research and data. Sana interned at Kraft Foods over the summer in brand management. She is involved with Marketing Group, Retail, Apparel, & Luxury Group and Economies of Scale (Acapella). She studied abroad in Paris in the winter and will be heading to the East Coast to work in brand management after graduation.

Drew Thomas , Class of 2016
Drew Thomas Drew attended the U.S. Naval Academy, where he majored in Chemistry and received a language minor in French. He spent 10 years in the Navy as a pilot prior to Booth. This past summer he interned at a Bulge Bracket Bank here in Chicago and will be going back full-time. He is a member of the Investment Banking Group, Armed Forces Group, and volunteers with Give Something Back. Drew is married and he and his wife have a one-year-old daughter.

John DeChellis , Class of 2016
John Dechellis Born and raised in a sleepy coastal town of 15,000 in Florida, John eagerly cannonballed into NYC for college (Columbia University). After graduating, he spent a year working for an online marketing firm before joining Booz & Company (now Strategy&), where for three years he worked as a general management consultant, serving clients in the Financial Services industry. From February to December of last year, he interned (part-time and full-time) as an Associate at a lower-middle market private equity firm here in Chicago. At Booth, he is a Co-Chair of the Dean's Marketing Advisory Committee, an Admissions Fellow, and a Writer/Director for Follies. Next fall, he will be returning to Strategy& as a Senior Associate.

Gaspar Betancourt , Class of 2016
Gaspar BetanCourt Gaspar is from Miami, and he lived there until starting Booth last year. While in college at Florida International University (FIU), he started a graphic design company, and prior to Booth, he was a TV Producer for a Hispanic late-night variety show. This summer he did Project Management and Business Development at AptAmigo.com, a Chicago start-up. At Booth, he is working towards concentrations in Marketing, Managerial and Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, and General Management. He’s also an Admissions Fellow as the Creative Director of The Booth Experience blog, Follies Production co-chair, Chicagonomics co-chair, and co-chair and co-founder of Booth's unofficial a capella group Economies of Scale. After school, he'll be joining Wipro as a Global Business Manager.

Faria Jabbar , Class of 2016
Faria Jabbar Faria completed her undergrad at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and worked as a marketing consultant at a digital agency in NYC for five years after that. Last summer, she worked as a summer brand manager at Nestle's Ice Cream Division and she is planning to return to marketing after graduation. At school, she is involved with the Marketing Group and the Retail, Apparel, and Luxury Group, as well as The Booth Experience.

Michael Kurt , Class of 2016
Michael Kurt Michael Kurt is originally from Houston, TX. He earned a BBA at Texas A&M University before moving to Orlando, FL to work in finance for The Walt Disney Company, specifically supporting Parks & Resorts. This summer, he worked in the Strategic Planning & Business Development group for Paramount Pictures Corporation in Hollywood. At Booth, Michael has been actively involved in the Graduate Business Council, Golden Gargoyles, Board Fellows, Admissions Fellows, Board Fellows, and the Media, Entertainment, & Sports Group. In his last quarter at Booth, he is interning with a private equity firm that specializes in portfolio buyouts. Upon graduation, he will be moving to LA to continue working in entertainment.

Emily Ruff , Class of 2016
Emily Ruff Emily Ruff worked as a consultant and education entrepreneur in Washington, DC before Booth. She is passionate about the education industry and took advantage of Booth’s flexibility to design her own dual degree program. When she graduates in June, she’ll have her MBA from Booth and her Masters in Education from Harvard. At Booth, Emily served as Vice President of Student Affairs (planning Booth’s social events, galas, and Cohort Cup competitions (think of the latter like the House Cup competitions in Harry Potter)). She is also very involved in professional student groups supporting students in management consulting and education, chairing Booth’s first Education Business Plan competition through a partnership with Yale SOM. She also worked on two NVC start-ups and did multiple internships in private equity and venture capital in addition to her summer internship for McKinsey and Company in Boston, where she’ll be returning post-Booth.
