Favorite Booth course
Financial Statement Analysis not only taught me to dissect business based on financial statements and different financial metrics, but the final project was truly a transformative experience. We created an equity report on an assigned company, complete with forecasting financial statements, valuation analysis, a recommendation, and a discussion of the firm's strengths, history, and strategy. It was incredible to learn how to make the reports that I so heavily relied on in my summer internships in investment banking.
Network Impact
Dougan Scholars not only gives you access to the Booth community, but provides membership into a Dougan Scholars cohort. You are inducted into a highly selective group of UChicago students who are interested in similar things as you and will be valuable contacts in the future, as well as lifelong friends.
Inside the Classroom
It was invigorating. At first, it was a little intimidating. However, then it makes you proud of yourself and makes you reflect on how lucky you are to have this opportunity. So the nerves quickly disappear and are replaced by a passion to squeeze as much as possible from this incredible experience. You begin to answer questions in class and engage other students, creating friendships unlike anything you've ever had.
