Career Aspirations

I am an advocate, facilitative leader, and strategic communicator who excels at bringing people together to achieve greater impact, something I have the opportunity to do every day in my current role. When I came to Booth, I aspired to leverage the skills and experiences I developed working at the nexus of the nonprofit, public, and private sectors to serve as the Executive Director of a nonprofit that challenges the status quo, both in terms of organization management and service delivery. Because of Booth, I was able to make that transition. Now I have the opportunity to build an organization and team from the ground up to help kids and families at a time when they need it most: through a parent or guardian's cancer diagnosis. My team and I are developing research-based, scalable models and data-driven, cross-sector solutions that improve the quality of life for families navigating cancer, regardless of their race, socioeconomic status, or family make-up. I am thrilled to take on this new challenge armed with my MBA education.

Why Booth?

A Booth MBA is a direct investment in my own personal and professional development that will allow me to refine skills, develop cross-sector relationships, and immerse myself in hands-on experiences, all of which will multiply my impact as a nonprofit leader. After nearly a decade working in fundraising, communication, and advocacy, an MBA now will compliment and build upon my experience to date, rather than just confirm or reinforce it. I will have the opportunity to refine my quantitative skills, dive deeper into economic and market theory, and step outside my comfort zone. An MBA from Booth will support my continued development as a bold, progressive, results-driven leader, and further prepare me to solve our country’s most complex social problems despite political challenges. Booth prepares diverse leaders to “put the smartest ideas into meaningful action.” This phrase precisely captures what I want out of my career.
