Career Aspirations
My career aspirations are to grow as a leader in cross-sector collaborations focused on economic development. I hope to take a systemic approach that aligns nonprofit organizations with corporations, local governments, and data analytics to drive prosperity within hyper-local neighborhoods. This would allow all parties to leverage the deep understanding of local ecosystems with the expertise of multiple stakeholders to achieve tangible outcomes through thought partnership, shared accountability, and some good old-fashioned trial and error.
Why is an MBA important in the non-profit and government sector?
I aim to strengthen my strategic skills, financial acumen, and persuasive communication in order to effectively align incentives among the various stakeholders within and connected to the social sector. Doing so requires the ability to understand and creatively tinker with the motives behind decisions made for diverging, sometimes conflicting, goals. Ultimately, I hope to use these skills to add to the ways in which a positive impact in a community means a positive impact in reportable outcomes for all businesses, regardless their tax status.
