| CHRIS P. DIALYNAS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE PROFESSOR OF
Winner of the 2004 Elaine Bennett Research Prize awarded to the top female
economist under 40, Bertrand is the author of an often-cited, controversial study of racial
discrimination in hiring based on first names. In 2012, Betrand was awarded the Society of
Labor Economists’ Rosen Prize for Outstanding Contributions to Labor Economics.
| JERRY W. AND CAROL LEE LEVIN PROFESSOR OF OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Recipient of the 2008 Harold W. Kuhn Award for Operations Management, Birge won for
his paper “Equity Valuation, Production, and Financial Planning: A Stochastic Programming
Approach.” In 2012, Birge won the Pierskalla Award for the best research paper in health
care management science, along with Vishal Ahuja, a PhD student studying management
science and operations management.

of the 2008 Theoretical Innovation Award from the Society of Personality and Social
Psychology, Epley is the first business school professor to receive the award. Epley won for
his research “On Seeing Human: A Three-Factor Theory of Anthropomorphism.” In 2010,
Epley received the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contributions from the
American Psychological Association.

Founder of the efficient market hypothesis and a leading thinker in modern finance, Fama
is the recipient of numerous awards, including three recent inaugural awards: the Onassis
Prize, the Morgan Stanley American Finance Association Award for Excellence in Finance,
and the Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics.
| JEFFREY BREAKENRIDGE KELLER PROFESSOR OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE
Fishbach studies social psychology, with specific emphasis on motivation,
emotion, and decision making. Fishbach is the recipient of several international awards,
including the Society of Experimental Social Psychology’s Best Dissertation Award and the
Fulbright Educational Foundation Award. In 2011, she was named a Beatrice Foods Co.
Faculty Scholar, and she was named an FMC Scholar at Chicago Booth from 2006 until 2008.

FINANCE, AND ACCOUNTING
Leuz is a codirector of the Initiative on Global Markets, a
research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and at the European
Corporate Governance Institute, and a Fellow at Wharton’s Financial Institution Center,
Goethe Universität Frankfurt’s Center for Financial Studies, and the CESifo Research
Network. He has received several awards and honors, including a Humboldt Research
Award, the 2011 Wildman Medal Award, the 2010 Notable Contribution to the Accounting
Literature Award, and a JFE All Star Paper Award.
