Express your interest in the Executive-in-Residence program by Friday 8 November 2019 at 11:59 p.m. (London Time).

As a participant you will have the opportunity to meet with one of the Executives-in-Residence in a small group (4-5 participants) coaching session. You will be able to select the executives you'd like to meet with and your available times for the small group coaching session.

The hour-long small group coaching sessions commence at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. There will be a 10-minute break between each session. The sessions will be followed by a brief networking reception from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Space is limited; completion of this survey does not guarantee participation. You will be notified of your participation status by Friday 8 November 2019. Please be prepared to send your bio or resume with your registration or send promptly upon confirmation of participation.

Executives:

Jorge Barreiro is responsible for running Barclay Debt Business for the corporate bank internationally. This includes structuring, syndication and execution of syndicated or bilateral bank facilities for Barclays’ clients.  

Mr. Barreiro Joined Barclays in 2006 as part of the global loans team in charge of structuring and origination debt deals in southern Europe.  

Mr Barrreiro started his career in JP Morgan Chase in 1999 when he joined the Madrid office corporate finance where he was an associate in the media & telecom team. In 2002, Mr Barreiro joined Banesto to become Head of Leveraged Finance. Mr Barreiro held this role until 2006 when he moved to Barclays.  

Mr. Barreiro holds a master in business administration (MBA) degree from IESE business school in Barcelona (1999) and a bachelor in business administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, USA (1995).  

Tim is a currently a consultant to the sports and media industry.  From 2007 to 2019, he was Insight Director at Sky, the largest pay-TV brand in Europe and now part of Comcast.  At Sky, Tim was Insight Director, which at various points included key strategic and Exec level projects, and insight across Entertainment and Sports, Brand and Trading. He also led subscriber valuation of sports and entertainment rights.  

Prior to Sky, he had a number of roles in consulting and marketing across the US, the UK and Poland, primarily but not exclusively in the Mobile industry.  

Tim has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Washington.

 Ekaterina Herzig has more than 20 years of executive experience in international luxury brand and fast moving consumer goods retail. She has worked across 22 countries of core developed markets and emerging nations.

Holding position from CEO, Strategy, Business development, M&A, International Director of Operations and Business Units in retail and wholesale. She has worked for private, public companies across EMEA region such as a renown international retailers A.S. Watson Luxury Group, Marionnaud Group, The Nuance Group and now for Dufry Group as Managing Director of Switzerland. She holds Bachelor BA (High Hons) from International University of Geneva in General Management and Corporate Banking, as well as Executive MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (EXP14).

Isabel Liu has 20 years’ experience investing private equity in infrastructure in emerging and developed markets.  She has been a key executive in the start-up of four investment businesses for both private equity funds and corporates, backed by blue-chip sponsors. These include the USD1 billion AIG Asian Infrastructure Fund I investing in China and Southeast Asia and the EUR1 billion Western European fund for ABN AMRO.  She led the Asia Pacific investment business for UK company John Laing plc.  Isabel moved to London 18 years ago to become CFO of the global airports joint venture of US construction company Bechtel and Singapore Changi Airport. She has been involved in the full investment cycle of origination, negotiation, financing, acquisition, governance and management of airports, roads, metro stations, and power plants. 

Currently Isabel is a non-executive board director of Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PiP).  PiP was created by UK pension funds to make debt and equity investments in UK infrastructure. Isabel is also a board member of Transport Focus, the public body which is the consumer champion for users of UK rail, bus, tram and highways.  Isabel serves on the Consumer Challenge Board for Heathrow Airport, scrutinising how the airport addresses consumer priorities in its business plan which includes a new runway.

Isabel has a BA in Economics from The Ohio State University, a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Bruce is the incoming Head of the School of Business, Law and Society at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.

Bruce has 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles in banking, financial services and general management (Canadian Utilities Limited, Oliver Wyman, S.G. Warburg and Deutsche Bank). Bruce has a particular interest in how new findings in behavioural economics can positively impact business performance; he recently earned an MSc (Honours) in Behavioural and Economic Science at the University of Warwick. He completed his MBA in Finance at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1989. While at Chicago Booth, Bruce and a handful of classmates worked with Professor Harry Davis to develop and introduce the LEAD program which continues to be an integral part of the MBA curriculum. Bruce and classmates from Warwick are planning to launch a behavioural consulting company based in India. From September 2012 to June 2014, Bruce was Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Deutsche Bank’s (DB) Human Resources Division.

From September 2011 to August 2012, Bruce took a sabbatical from DB and was the Distinguished Executive-in-Residence at Chicago Booth in the UK. From September 2010 to August 2011, Bruce was Deputy Global COO of the Corporate and Investment Bank at DB and from 2001 to 2010 Bruce was Global COO of Corporate Finance and then Global Banking. The businesses comprising Global Banking had more than 8,000 employees in 37 countries. During the 10 years that Bruce was COO of Global Banking, DB move up the Corporate Finance League Tables from outside the top 10 to a consistent top 5 position. He was a member of the Global Banking Executive Committee, the Group Operations Committee, the Group Asset and Liability Management Committee and the UK Regional Governance Board. He Chaired the DB UK People Committee and was senior mentor to the DB Women in European Business Group. Bruce first joined DB in 1995 in Equity Capital Markets focusing on Equity-linked transactions and Emerging Markets.

Tom Yoritaka is a London-based venture capital investor, a non-executive director/interim executive/advisor for startups and a former corporate executive at global technology companies. He is a Founder & Managing Partner at Apricot Venture Capital, a pan-European VC firm investing in deep-tech startups in the region. He sits on boards of a number of European and Asian startups in his personal capacity. He also advises several industry advocacy organisations in the UK. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of the University of Plymouth in the UK.

Tom was the former Global Managing Director of Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence (Cisco EIR) – the company's corporate venturing group for early-stage companies. As the global head of Cisco EIR, he worked with startups innovating in IoT, AI, big data, cloud, cybersecurity and blockchain. Cisco EIR provided startups with opportunities to build strategic relationships with Cisco Business Units and executives, co-working space, software, financial support and potential strategic investments from Cisco. He was previously the Senior Director & General Manager of Social Solutions & Platforms, building and managing Cisco’s Web software products designed to advance social interactions, knowledge management and collaboration for Cisco customers and partners.   

Prior to joining Cisco, Tom held various executive and leadership positions at Yahoo! and Microsoft.  He also worked as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group & McKenna Group.  He holds a master's degree from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics, statistics and economics with honors from Northwestern University.
