With a worldwide alumni population numbering at 46,000, Booth’s growing African community spans across many functions and industries, including; consulting, financial services, energy, technology, healthcare, retail and consumer, private equity and venture capital, social enterprise and non-profit. Based in London and traveling extensively throughout the region, Leslie focuses exclusively on working with organizations in EMEA to identify opportunities and create strategies that help connect employers with Full-Time MBA students (averaging four to five years of work experience), Executive and Evening/Weekend MBA students (averaging more than 12 years of work experience) or Booth alumni.
- Chicago’s Full-Time MBA program averages 575 students per class, at least one-third of which is comprised of international students. Of those, 30+% are from EMEA.
- Chicago’s Executive MBA program for EMEA is based in London. EMBA students bring an average of 12 years of work experience to the program. Each class of 90 students represents, on average, citizens from more than 25 countries.
- Chicago Booth alumni have a strong presence in EMEA with a thriving community across Sub-Saharan Africa. Robust alumni clubs strengthen business networks and allow alumni to leverage cross-industry and cross-border expertise and collaboration that benefits organizations.

Career Services provides a year-round, free-of-charge job posting service through Global Talent Solutions (GTS), our online recruiting portal. Through GTS recruiters can view and edit job postings for all Booth candidates – current students seeking entry-level MBA opportunities, as well as alumni and students in the executive MBA programs who are seeking more senior level opportunities.
Recruiting on campus is an efficient and effective way to source candidates for full-time and internship positions. We have excellent video conference facilities on the Chicago campus so it is possible to conduct nearly all aspects of the international recruiting process virtually for companies with constraints on time/resources.
There are many ways to recruit on campus including attending a multi-firm Corporate Networking Night, presenting to and networking with students at a Corporate Conversation, or interviewing students at the Harper Center. Our expert Relationship Managers are knowledgeable about your industry, the current recruiting landscape, and the campus, and can help you create a recruiting strategy tailored to your specific needs, guiding you through each step of the recruiting process in tandem with your regional liaison, Leslie Plaisted.
For full-time positions for the Full-Time program, most recruiting events are held in the fall, in September and October, with interviews in October and November. Internship recruiting events begin in mid-October, and interviews take place in late-January and February. We’re also happy to facilitate just-in-time interviews and events outside our peak recruiting periods.

Partner with Student Groups
Chicago Booth student groups host conferences, speaker series, mock interviews, lectures, panel discussions, and many other activities that focus on career interests or professional development. Working with these student groups can be a valuable resource to enhance your campus visibility and recruiting efforts. - Africa Business Trek
Over Spring Break (late March), students travel to companies related to a specific industry or region in Africa. The 2012 trek focused on Kenya and South Africa. Attend or Participate in an Event
Chicago Conversations – Chicago Conversations are events around the world with rich dialogue among leaders in a targeted industry thriving in a particular city. Corporate partners of Booth and the community are invited to hear about industry trends and network with Booth talent and peers.
Industry Networking Events – With events in London, Singapore, and Chicago the Chicago Booth Industry Networking Events provide an informal setting for corporate friends, Executive MBA students, and alumni to connect, share knowledge, exchange information, and create relationships around a specific industry.
Booth Business Forum – This series, hosted at the Gleacher Center in Chicago, invites alumni, corporate partners, and current students to attend an engaging panel discussion led by industry professionals. The evening will provide time for networking with fellow attendees, and panelists will share their industry experiences and thoughts on future trends.
Participate in an Event – Every year, Chicago Booth hosts dozens of events meant to provide educational, social and networking opportunities for Chicago Booth students and alumni.
