John took on a temporary role on the Full-Time MBA Admissions Team in September 2018, and joined the office full-time in July 2019. He is responsible for creating programming and recruitment strategies for the Dougan Scholars Program, the Chicago Booth Scholars Program, the Summer Business Scholars Program, and the Civic Scholars Program.
Prior to joining Booth, John spent three years as a high school teacher and college advisor for the Noble Network of Charter Schools teaching high school biology, college planning, leadership development, and dance. John also developed curriculum for 9th-11th grades that utilized elements from LEAD, and collaborated with Moneythink UChicago to provide financial literacy programming to Chicago high school students. During his work as a college programming coordinator, he achieved 100% acceptance for 34 sophomore students into national university and collegiate summer programs. John has had a long-standing history of working in the educational field, including working for Teach For America, the NYC Department of Education, and the Urban Education Institute.
John is an alum of the University of Chicago, earning his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Public Policy. He received his K-12 teaching certification from Dominican University. John is also a co-founder of Passion Nurtures Growth, which provides developmental and networking opportunities for dance artists and other creatives, and is an active member of the Chicago Dance Community.
