As someone from the Bay Area working in sales at Yelp, Sam Steiny realized that she wanted to move into product marketing, while staying in the tech industry. Sam knew that becoming an effective product marketer in today’s world meant being able to analyze the data. She knew Chicago Booth would be the best place to get her MBA.
The classes Sam has taken at Booth are preparing her for both the numbers side of product marketing as well as the consumer behavior side. She focused on both data analytics and the psychological aspect in Marketing Strategy with Professor Shapiro. Sam also worked directly with clients based in the Bay Area who want to target new audiences for their technology. The combination of coursework and strategy research for companies in the space has stretched Sam’s expertise and ability to think about product marketing in the most effective way.
