Person studying with following words: Admissions Insights — 2019 Executive MBA Application is Live

After proudly welcoming our new class in Chicago last week, we are happy to announce the launch of the 2018-19 application! Our global admissions teams will begin the process of recruiting a new outstanding class to start in June 2019.  In this post, I will guide you through the key steps you can take to be admitted to our world-renowned Executive MBA program and begin your career transformation.

Do your research

What is the Chicago Booth Approach? Do you know about the format of the program? What kind of electives or specializations does the program offer? What do you know about our international sections? What is the classroom profile?

Make sure you research all aspects of the program, from curriculum to community, to understand why Chicago Booth is the best fit for you.  In addition to information found on our website, we encourage you to experience Booth by visiting our campuses, sitting in on a class and meeting current students.

Apply early

We have four application deadlines prior to the program start in June, but we review applications on a rolling admission basis. This means the earlier you apply in the process, the sooner you get an answer. Applying early will also increase your chances of admission, as we have limited number of seats available on our three campuses.

Create a straightforward application

Starting this month, you can begin building out your application online. You will need to gather the different elements that help us learn more about you: personal information, your professional resume, a two-page essay, two letter of recommendations, copies of transcripts and diplomas and a test score. Once your application is submitted, our admissions team will review it and, if selected, you will be asked for an interview.  An admissions director or an alumnus conducts our admissions interviews on campus.

Plan ahead to get the test score you want

Many Executive MBA candidates have not sat for a test in years. Because we require a test score from all applicants, we strongly recommend setting aside some time to prepare to do your best. Although the test score is just one component in your application, we use it to evaluate your readiness to succeed and thrive in the program.

We accept scores from one of three standardized tests: Executive Assessment, GMAT or GRE. For those less familiar, the Executive Assessment is a good option for Executive MBA candidates. It was specifically developed to capture the real-world skills of executives, and is more streamlined and shorter in duration than the GMAT. Please reach out to your local campus team with any questions around the test requirement. We can also guide you towards available preparation resources.

We wish you the best of luck as you begin this journey, and hope to meet you along the way!
