Earlier this month 450 Booth students and guests danced the night away at Booth's sixth annual student-organized Winter Formal. The Winter Formal is one of Student Advisory Council's (SAC) signature events that provides students with the opportunity to further mingle and let loose at a black-tie optional event. Jeremy Siefken, Assistant Director of Student Services notes, "Winter Formal is a bright moment and fond memory for the students who attend; everyone looks and feels elegant and are surrounded by good friends. It's an opportunity to shift the focus away from the classroom for the evening and appreciate the holistic Booth experience-where the rigor shifts from the books to the dance floor!" Complete with fine-dining and the best dance moves you'll see North of the Chicago River, Winter Formal is one event you won't want to miss out on as a Boothie!
SAC hosts over 16 events each academic year including lunch with the Dean, Boat Cruise, Booth Gives Back, Family Picnic, MBA Cup & Winter Formal. "SAC's mission is to continuously improve the student experience by responding to the dynamic needs of the student population and collaborating with the program, alumni, and career services offices. This group is led by a dedicated group of students that work to provide a well-rounded MBA experience for Booth students" says Holly Shearer, Director of Student Services.
Class, team work, networking (and studying, of course!) are only part of the student experience available at Chicago Booth. Did you know that the Evening MBA and Weekend MBA Programs have over 33 student-led clubs and organizations you can become a part of? Ranging from the Wine Club to Graduate Women in Business to the Golf Club and Booth Marketing Club there is always an event taking place and a spot available for you to call home. The variety of clubs and events allows you to be active in the robust student community at Booth while balancing work and family life.
