Spring Summit: A rendezvous of like minded individuals for professional development and intellectually stimulating discussion at a corporate setting. We pick a different topic every year and invite a panel or a speaker to discuss the topic. This year's topic is Entrepreneurship.

We have a panel of 5 Entrepreneurs. Come and listen to their stories, discuss your ideas and ask questions in a relaxed environment. Entrepreneurs on the panel represent the worlds of investment management, tech start-ups, marketing/advertising and service industries. Their varied experiences will prompt discussion that is both relevant to people who have already started a business or anyone who is thinking about starting one now or in the future.

Sarita Singh, '07 (AXP-6) (Moderator)
Head of Retail Operation, Google

Head of Retail Operations for Google's hardware devices business in Asia Pacific . In her role, Sarita works with device manufacturers, telecommunications carriers and large retailers across the region to bring Google's Android and Chrome devices to market.

With over 17 years of experience in sales, channels, marketing and operations, Sarita has previously worked for multinationals including Hewlett Packard, Oracle Corporation and salesforce.com. Sarita has lived in Melbourne, Sydney, Shanghai and currently resides in Singapore, giving her deep experience in markets across Asia Pacific. Sarita holds a Bachelor of Business degree from RMIT University and an MBA from Chicago Booth.

Mouna Aouri (Speaker)
Founder, Woomentum

Mouna Aouri is a bridge engineer and a serial tech-entrepreneur. She enjoyed 15 years of experience working in the engineering and technology space, in Japan, Tunisia and Singapore.

Mouna has relocated to Singapore with her family in 2011, her deep desire to see women have a bigger role in founding the companies of the future led her to found Woomentum, a crowdsourcing platform for women professionals and business owners to seek mentoring and raise funds.

Alexis Horowitz-Burdick (Speaker), Sephora Digital Marketing

Alexis founded Luxola in 2011, with the vision to bring the best beauty brands in the world to Southeast Asia, through a trusted, educational and easy-to-use e-commerce platform. In 2015 the platform, which had expanded to 12 markets and carried over 200 brands, was acquired by LVMH.

Prior to Luxola, Alexis founded The Sweet Spot, a high-end group-buying site focused on the Singapore market (acquired by JigoCity in July 2011). An entrepreneur at heart, she was a founding team member of Frontier Strategy Group (backed by Spark Capital), a Washington D.C. based subscription consulting firm, and was responsible for starting and building their Asia operations from 2008 - 2010.

Alexis holds a M.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in Political Science from California State University San Marcos.

Matthias de Ferrieres, '08 (AXP-7) (Speaker)

In Asia-Pacific since 2000, Matthias de Ferrieres is a French citizen, married with a Singaporean wife and has 2 kids.
Economist with a business & legal background (Chicago Booth - MBA, Sydney University – Faculty of Law), he has over 16 years of experience in P&C insurance in South-East Asia.

Matthias spent 14 years in AXA Asia where he started as an actuary in 2001 before covering different management positions focusing in transforming the fast growing organization. Regional CMO and Head of digital for the General Insurance side in ASIA, Matthias leaves the insurance giant in December 2014 to spearhead a series of local start-ups under the umbrella Stark Group Private Limited. Stark Group Private Limited aspires to accelerate the crucial transformation and digitization of the insurance industry in Asia, with particular focus in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

With Stark Group, Matthias intends to deliver disruptive yet easy to operate digital solutions, assimilating marketing experience to the slow-to-change insurance industry. His group of start-ups will assist organizations in developing customer-centric web apps for insurance acquisition, while commercializing a unique marketing distribution platform for insurance professionals in Asia ready to be deployed in February 2015.

Markus Gnirck (Speaker)
Co-Founder, Startupbootcamp FinTech

Markus is Partner of tryb, an investment and advisory firm for the ASEAN financial services sector, based in Singapore.
Prior to tryb, Markus co-founded Startupbootcamp FinTech, the largest innovation program in the FinTech industry, with startup accelerator programs in London, Singapore and New York. He led investments in 20 FinTech startups worldwide and sits on the board of multiple companies in Europe and Asia.

In his position of expanding Startupbootcamp to Asia, he played an instrumental role in building up FinTech ecosystems across the region and driving policy change and he is now rated as one of the key FinTech influencers in APAC. Over the last two years Markus has worked with more than 100 early stage companies in Asia to create partnerships with financial institutions.

Rinita and Inez (Speaker)
Co-Founders, BonAppetour

Rinita is the Co-founder and CEO of BonAppetour. She is responsible for the marketing and PR aspects of the company. A Chemical Engineer by education, her interest in startups was sparked when she led the sponsorship team for Singapore's largest business plan competition, Startup@Singapore, raising more than 120,000 SGD. She believes in constant learning, and is passionate about community marketplaces and travel.

Inez is the Co-founder and COO of BonAppetour. She is responsible for managing the global BonAppetour community and growing it. Inez is an Electrical Engineer by education but a community person at heart - she was president of Aseanpreneurs, a community focused on spreading awareness and giving opportunities for youth around ASEAN in the entrepreneurship space. Inez is a complete food and travel junkie, and a true hustler.
