The Chicago GSB Wealth Management Roundtable is proud to invite you to its next event. Our guest Stan Beckers, Managing Director, Head of Europe Alternative Equity Research at Barclays Global Investors, is one of the best known critics of hedge funds and a leading authority on quantitative investing. Stan will speak on "Family Offices and Hedge Funds – a Marriage Made in Heaven?" “Hedge funds are traditionally seen as the vehicles that deliver the best possible risk-adjusted returns. They have very few – if any – constraints and target the delivery of high absolute returns. As such, they are considered an ideal investment opportunity for family offices. Recent exponential growth in the number of hedge funds and the emergence of hedge fund index replication have however cast some doubt over the continued attractiveness of hedge funds. Undoubtedly, it has become much harder to identify the hedge funds that will consistently deliver on their promises,” Stan elaborates.
