Please join us for our first event of the year in our Leadership Series. Professor Alice Eagly will be discussing research from her book Through the Labyrinth, the truth about how women become leaders. Her work reviews leadership styles and the complex reasons why women have remained underrepresented in leadership roles, especially at higher levels in organizations and governments. The talk will cover common leadership stereotypes and why it is more difficult for women than men to show that they are qualified to lead, followed by a discussion on how women can negotiate these challenges.

Speaker Profiles
Alice Eagly (Speaker)
Professor of Psychology and of Management and Organizations at Northwestern. She is also Faculty Fellow in the Institute for Policy Research. As a social psychologist, Alice has studied leadership as well as attitudes, stereotypes, and prejudice. She has won several awards, including the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award of the American Psychological Association and the Eminent Leadership Scholar Award from the Network of Leadership Scholars in the Academy of Management. She is the author of Through the Labyrinth.
