Identification and management of transactions with Chinese investors has become a critical part of many mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization, and startup capital advisory practices in the US. Our December 21, 2015 panel will match three representatives of Chinese investors with three experts on the small to mid-size company marketplace in the Chicago area.

Bill Price, a lawyer with growthlaw.com in Warrenville has put a panel together for us to examine who could buy companies in this area, and what types of companies and investments may be for sale.

Our inbound investment experts:

Jeffrey A. Gonyo, Principal, Geneva Glen Capital. Jeff has more than 25 years of private equity experience, most recently raising over $100 million for an acquisitions fund from a Chinese family with more than $1 billion in investable capital.

Hao He, a partner of Wilton Partners, a firm that focuses on China related cross-border M&A, pre-listing and strategy consulting. In addition to her M&A practice, Ms. He has advised China based investors interested in US angel stage deals.

Stephen Markscheid is also a partner at Wilton Partners, a Shanghai based boutique investment bank.
He serves as non-executive director of CNinsure, Inc., Jinko Solar Inc., China Ming Yang Wind Group Co. Ltd. and ChinaCast Education Corporation. Steve is also a trustee of Princeton-in-Asia.

Eric E. Dunn is a Managing Director at Focus Capital Advisors. He is a past President of the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI), and still serves on that Board. He is a member of the Association of Merger and Acquisition Advisors and the Executive's Club of Chicago.

Linda Purcell, an M&A Broker at Purcell Associates LLC, assists company owners in designing and implementing their strategy to find the acquirer who will carry on and grow their legacy post-closing.
She focuses on manufacturing, service and distribution companies in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. Linda is Past Chair of International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), Past President of Midwest Business Brokers & Intermediaries (MBBI), a member of M&A Source, a member of the Institute of Certified Business Counselors, a member of AM&AA, a Certified Senior Business Analyst, and a licensed Real Estate Broker.

Larry Jones is a Vice President with First State Bank, St. Charles. He handles million dollar plus commercial loans for the bank, as he did for Valley Community Bank. He has an unmatched network of business contacts in the Fox Valley communities from Elgin to Aurora.
