Event Details

There are many Booth alumni now living in San Diego who have never tried surfing but would like to try it in a relaxed environment. Now is your chance! We have arranged for a private two-hour lesson for a maximum of 14 alumni on Saturday, May 9. Due to space constraints, alumni cannot register any guests.

Time: Please arrive at 11:30 a.m. to pick your wetsuit and get suited up for the two-hour private surfing lesson, which starts promptly at noon. When the class ends at 2:00 p.m., we invite the attendees to enjoy a taco lunch at a nearby restaurant near where we'll be surfing.

What to Bring: Your bath suit, a towel, sunscreen, and a sense of fun and adventure.

More Info: The Eli Howard Surf School group lessons cover everything from surfing basics (e.g., how to carry your board, paddling, popping up, reading and anticipating waves) to surf etiquette and beach safety. They provide a full length wetsuit and foam surfboard. With a hands-on approach and instructors in the water with the students, the school reports that the majority of students are able to stand up on their surfboard and ride a wave before the lesson is over. This lesson is intended for beginners only.
