Come join your fellow Booth and Pritzker BSD alums and friends as we enjoy an afternoon matinee at the Court Theatre in Hyde Park.
We will be viewing Samuel Becket's play, Waiting for Godot, a thoughtful and haunting meditation on the meaning of human existence. The play takes place on a lonely country road, beneath a barren tree, where two vagabonds wait for a man named Mr. Godot. As the evening unfolds, a desperate, humorous, and unchanging universe is revealed that has delighted and challenged audiences for over half a century.
Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson (Seven Guitars) returns to direct this absurdist classic with an all-star cast featuring Court Theatre favorites A.C. Smith, Allen Gilmore, and Alfred Wilson.
We will meet at the Court Theatre Lobby at 2:15 PM, where we will provide you with your admission ticket(s). The Matinee will begin at 2:30 PM and the play should wind up around 4:30-5:00 PM.
The Court Theatre is located on campus at 5535 South Ellis Avenue. Free parking is available at the nearby parking structure on 55th street, next to the Court Theatre. Public transportation also serves the Theatre. For directions or further information, please contact Court Theatre directly at 773/753-4472 or on the web at courttheatre.org
Dinner is on your own, however, Hyde Park has a number of dining establishments to choose from. Care to join some of your fellow alums for dinner after the play? Meet back in the lobby after the play to find some dinner companions and select an establishment.
