Event Details

The recent royal baby watch notwithstanding, while the U.S. was a pathfinder in rejecting hereditary monarchy, a potential variant has been long and widely embraced – family firms here are estimated to range from 70% or more of all business enterprises. And that extends to the economy's pinnacle, with 35% of Fortune 500 companies being family controlled. So if a common theme of the American dream is being one's own boss, how does that get extended across time as a generational inheritance? Or is there validity to the old saying that "family and business do not mix"?

Join us to hear experts who have devoted most of their careers to family business, from a principal who started at his kitchen table to a counselor who has guided thousands of firms worldwide. If your personal experiences also include those blood ties that bind your related contributions to the discussion are most welcome. But in any case, our August audience will be posed to get insights on topics like:
• Sustaining ongoing engagement with the requisite executive talent for long term success
• Effective asset sharing and succession planning
• The dynamics of business vs. family systems and management vs. ownership
• Processes of communication and conflict resolution
