If your business accepts credit cards, you cannot afford to miss this enlightening program. Bryan Johnson will explain how large and small companies alike can improve their payment processing. Bryan will also explain why many businesses today are vulnerable to substantial fines and liability because they do not adequately protect their customers’ personal and confidential data. As detailed in a recent ABC network investigative report, many retail businesses (from restaurants to on-line merchants to major retail chains) are still using technology for processing and storing credit card information that allows hackers to capture personal data easily. Those retailers can be subject to fines of $500,000 per violation and face millions of dollars of liability to customers, banks and credit card companies. Indeed, TJX (the parent of Marshalls and TJ Max) suffered huge financial losses – not to mention loss of customers – when it found that outsiders had been stealing credit card information for 18 months. Bryan is the CEO of Braintree Payment Solutions, a company he started a year ago while a student at the U. Chicago Graduate School of Business. In May, Braintree won the prestigious Kaplan New Venture Challenge at the GSB. Braintree Payment Solutions is a leading provider of end-to-end electronic payment products and services. Braintree processes all forms of electronic payment transactions – credit, debit, electronic check, and electronic funds transfer. The company offers simplified PCI Compliance and credit card storage solutions, risk and fraud management, e-commerce solutions, and rate management.
