Random Walk: The Square Mile

The University of Chicago Alumi Club of UK

Chicago Booth Alumni Club of the United Kingdom

June 29, 2012: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

We have oft heard that stock prices follow a random walk. In case not, see below -

We'd like to relive this debate differently. Throw in some liberal arts majors, a Friday evening, chaperoning by a trained historian, and more than 2,000 years of history and you've got yourself an experience to remember - a Random Walk through London's famous square mile.

A tour around the historic city, culminating in a historical pub, where you can appreciate camaraderie, both historic and new-found.

Selected highlights of the walk include -

- The Roman remains and the early history of London
- The Bank of England
- London's first coffee house
- The Royal Exchange
- Lloyds of London
- Coat of arms of the City
- London and trading
- Guildhall
- The Livery Halls
- Leadenhall Market
- Mansion House

Walk begins: The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Reception)

Time: 1800 hours
Date: Friday, 29 June 2012
Duration: 90 minutes
Walk ends: Counting House Pub

So come out, and get to know more about the City behind the City. And hypotheses can take a hike (no pun intended).
