Join a group of fellow Chicago Booth alumni for an evening of music featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, a 15-piece assemblage of virtuosos which has contemporized the notion of a "big band," simultaneously honoring the rich heritage of Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong while debuting a stunning variety of commissions from illustrious names including Joe Henderson, Christian McBride, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Lovano and of course, Wynton himself. Prior to the concert, alumni are invited to a private reception in the Wattis Room of Davies Symphony Hall for wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a pre-concert talk by Executive Artistic Director of SF Jazz, Randall Kline, who will explore the career of Wynton Marsalis and the place of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in the big band tradition. Following the reception, alumni will move to a block of premier seats located in the orchestra section of Davies Symphony Hall. See below for details.
