You are invited to the 2021 edition of the Annual General Meeting of the University of Chicago Alumni Club of Taiwan.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at noon on Saturday, December 11 at Brothers Hotel. We are happy to welcome special guest Professor Shie-Ming Peng, the former deputy dean of the Academia Sinica, the national academy of Taiwan, to our event. His speech will focus on "My Academic Career"
Professor Peng obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Chicago. In 1976, he returned to Taiwan to teach at National Taiwan University. He devoted himself to the research of inorganic chemistry, crystallography and nanoscience and was named National Chair Professor, received the Presidential Science Award and many other awards. Professor Peng was honored as an academician of the Academia Sinica in 1998, and served as the deputy dean of the Academia Sinica from 2011 to 2014. From 1999 to 2002, he served as the vice president of National Taiwan University and other important positions.
This annual meeting coincides with the expiration of the term of the current president and board of directors and supervisors. Therefore, the board of directors and supervisors shall be re-elected at the same time. The newly elected board of directors and supervisors shall then convene the first joint meeting of board of directors and supervisors and elect the new chairman. Please participate in the election.
After the speech, the alumni association scholarship awards will be held, including inspirational scholarships for the children of alumni. We are looking forward to your participation and please invite your UChicago alumni friends to participate with you.
