With names like Robert Parker, Antonio Galloni, James Suckling Allen Meadows and Jancis Robinson all vying for a position within fine wine criticism, what is the importance of point scores in fine wine? How does it impact perception of quality or value?

Please join Richard O'Mahony and Hannah Van Susteren of Atlas Fine Wines for a dinner discussing and debating all aspects of the point scoring system in wine. Dinner will be held at La Cabotte on the 9th May in the Jeroboam Room from 7pm. About Atlas

With London and Swiss offices and an extensive network of trade contacts worldwide, our experienced team's wine knowledge and in-depth understanding of market trends enable us to provide well-selected fine wine offers, efficient broking and class-leading reserves management. It is our approach that sets us apart. We bring expertise, insight and tailored opportunities to our clients, priding ourselves on the quality of our advice, our responsiveness and our transparency. These principles are reflected in all aspects of our business.

Richard O'Mahony joined the wine trade in 1994 and has worked in various sectors of the industry. Aside from his senior sales role at a major UK fine wine merchant, he was also formerly a Deputy Director in the wine department of a leading auction house
Before his studies were happily interrupted by the arrival of twins, Richard had passed the tasting papers of the Masters of Wine Examination. In Atlas' infancy, Richard's role covered all aspects of the business. He was central to establishing systems and processes and building Atlas' profile with négociants and producers. Richard has returned to a focus in sales, advising private clients on their wine requirements and portfolios.

Originally from Vermont USA, Hannah Van Susteren moved to Italy in 2007 where she worked for an international non-profit organisation before moving into the private sector. During her placement in Turin, Hannah honed her language skills developing a high level of proficiency in Italian.
She moved to the UK in 2009 to study for her Master's in Art Business. Whilst studying for this qualification at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, Hannah wrote her dissertation on the fine wine market for which she received a distinction. This soon paid dividends and Hannah joined Atlas in early 2011.
At Atlas, Hannah manages PR, marketing and events, as well as oversees client communication, brand and website development. Having rapidly built on her wine knowledge since joining Atlas, she finished her WSET Diploma in 2015.
