Korok Ray, PhD
Korok is an Associate Professor at the Mays Business School of Texas A&M University, and Director of the Mays Innovation Research Center. He is formerly of the Accounting faculty at the Chicago Booth School of Business, and has served on the President's Councial of Economic Advisors. He is a labor economist who researches the future of work. In particular, he investigates how computer science and machine learning can create better electronic labor markets that will become ever more common in a networked society. Korok's core area of research is performance measurement: the study of incentives, risk/reward, and compensation for human performance. This application includes executives, chief financial officers, financial traders, farmers, doctors, teachers, rank and file employees, bankers, and even athletes. His research seeks to create economic models of human behavior and to design incentive systems to achieve better outcomes for all. His tools are economic theory, data science, and some small doses of artificial intelligence. Korok earned a BS in mathematics from the University of Chicago and a PhD in economics from Stanford University.
Michelle Wallin, Esq.
Michelle Wallin is a partner in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's employee benefits and compensation practice. Michelle represents a wide range of public and private technology and growth companies with respect to executive compensation and employee benefit arrangement matters. Her practice focuses on the design and implementation of equity compensation plans, employment and severance agreements, and cash compensation arrangements, as well as on the corresponding tax, accounting, securities law, and day-to-day operational issues that can arise in connection with such arrangements. Michelle also is actively involved in the firm's transactional practice, working with employers to manage the transition of employees and their benefits during and after a merger or acquisition. Ms Wallin holds a BA from State University of New York, Binghamton, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
