Anthony Hobley (Speaker)
Partner, Norton Rose

Anthony Hobley is a partner at Norton Rose and head of the firm's global climate change and carbon finance team. His previous post was as General Counsel to the Carbon Funds & Director of Legal Policy at Climate Change Capital Limited, where he advised on many CDM and JI projects including the biggest private syndication of a carbon transaction. He was a voting member of the Investment Committee and negotiated a number of ERPAs in emerging markets such as China. Prior to Climate Change Capital, Anthony helped to develop the climate change practice at Baker & McKenzie. Anthony has a first class honours degree in Chemistry with Physics and a Masters Degree in Environmental Law. He specialises in Climate Change, Carbon Finance and Clean Energy Law and lectures world-wide on the subject. Anthony advised the EU Commission as part of a consortium on the preparation of a regulation for an EU-wide system of greenhouse gas registries for registration and transfer of carbon allowances and credits. He currently advises a wide range of investment banks, carbon funds, project developers and corporates in the carbon market. Anthony sits on the board at both of the Carbon Markets & Investors Association and the Voluntary Carbon Standard Association, and is also a member of the Climate Change Law Review's editorial board.
