In the age of instant gratification, "fulfilled by Amazon," and the constant chatter of social media, what's the point of books? Where is the money (if any) in the business of books? Please join bookstore entrepreneur Cathy Fiebach, author and wealth advisor Rebecca Li-Huang MBA'98, and freelance editor Katie Skeen AB'91 AM'02 PhD'03 for a discussion of the challenges and opportunities of books, with time for informal conversation and advice-sharing.

After the closing of the last two big-box bookstores in the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia, Cathy Fiebach, a Wharton alumna, opened Main Point Books to create a space for the book-loving community to discover and discuss great books. Cathy will share her experience as an independent bookstore owner and will help you choose your next great read, too.

Rebecca Li-Huang's Chicago connection started at her first job as a minimum wage immigrant worker at the old GSB (Booth) cafeteria when she first came to the US. Rebecca will share her understanding of the "numbers behind words" and read a page from her award-winning memoir, Green Apple Red Book, a labor of love for which she put on hold a book of business and a career in wealth management.

Katie Skeen will share her perspective on writing and editing. Katie taught writing, English literature, and humanities at the University of Chicago and Villanova University before shifting to a freelance editing career.
