We will examine marriage and family trends and explore related economic and policy considerations. Is growing up, getting married, and starting a family still the norm? How many children are people having? What about divorce and multiple marriages or same-gender marriages? Are more people never marrying at all? We'll explore the economic and policy implications for: child-rearing, education, purchase decisions, housing, insurance, and more. Our goal is not to make value-based decisions, but rather to try to understand trends and determine their likely impact. **This is a moderated discussion forum among peers. Please do the assigned pre-reading (posted two weeks before the event) so that you can more fully participate in the discussion.
