The Economists' big decisions survey found exectuives fundamentally skeptical in their practice use use of data to drive major business decisions. At the same time 90% of the executives surveyed acknowledge they need to have a big data strategy and take a more data driven approach.

This paradox between intention and action turns out to be quite human and difficult to overcome. It's a change that requires both faith and critical reasoning.
